With Nebraska basketball the Big 10 would move below the MWC last year in average RPI. The Big 12 who was the best gets even better by removng a 3-15 (in conference) team.

Nebraska football would fit in nicely with the way the big ten Plays football.

So does this mean we will now invite Boise St into the MWC? I would hope so!

Now it is true. This is going to get crazy fast. Not quite yet, I am monitoring headlines and it does not seem to be official as of this moment -- 4:15 pm PDT. Still just speculation officially. You have to see an announcement by the Big 10 and/or Neb. before I'm a believer. Then, all hell breaks loose.

"We" don't do anything. The MWC Board will decide for us.

Hard to imagine the dominoes will stop falling there. MWC does not need to do anything until June 30, as reported earlier. Boise will sit tight for sure. No one else will poach them.

My office mate is an Iowa State alum. He's bummed.
The way things are shaping up, the Cyclones are essentially the red-headed stepchild about to leave for school on "Kick-A-Ginger" day.

It's all about Texas. 2. Texas' AD is DeLoss Dodds. 3. It's been apparent since Saturday that Dodds or one of his deputies is feeding info to Chip Brown of Rivals' Orangebloods site. 4. Brown now says this: 5. Bottom Line: It's as good as a done deal so as Brown is also asking, the only real question is whether the schools left out will be able to collect any exit penalty from those who left them. (Comment: You can bet your ass they're going to try.)

"We" don't do anything. The MWC Board will decide for us. And considering how incompetent "we" have been over the years, that's probably a good thing.

One good thought though...if the Big 12 goes belly up...then by definition, the MWC (even as we are currently constituted) becomes the 6th best football conference in the land. That was our last remaining hurdle...to be in the top 6 conferences. By definition, by default, and/or by sheer dumb luck, if the Big 12 goes under, the MWC just punched their ticket to the BCS auto-bid leagues. (For as long as the BCS remains that is). ...so we got that going for us.

Are the top 6 conferences guaranteed? Where did you get that? www.bcsfootball.org/news/story?id=5126859"A conference will become the seventh automatic qualifier if it finishes among the top six conferences in both No. 1 and No. 2 and if its ranking in No. 3 is equal to or greater than 50 percent of the conference with the highest ranking in No. 3." We could be .... "in"! 6th best?!? By Aug 1 or so... SEC Pac-16 Big-16 MWC ACC ...the rest Agreed!

My guess is that all rules and bets are off from the old BCS standards once the 4 mega-conferences are formed. It's built in for a national playoff with only 4 mega-conferences--not 5 --not 6 or 7. Once again the MWC is outside looking in. I hope I'm wrong!!
