What the U.S. Invasion of Iraq Accomplished

Here is a story on Moktada al-Sadr's recent speech in Iraq:

While the author draws parallels to Hezbollah, it seems to me that what is being created in Iraq is another Iran.

So what has happened is that the United States took a stable country controlled by a despicable Saddam Hussein, destablized it and enabled the transformation of the country into one which will be controlled by radical islamic clerics who have a hatred for, and are a danger to, the United States far in excess of any threat Saddam may have been.

Who benefited from the U.S. invasion? Not us.

I hope the U.S. government will be more careful before engaging in any more foolish foreign adventures. But, I doubt it.

Actually, win, Sadr's opinion is that Iraq and the whole of the Middle East should be a Caliphate ruled by Radical Islam.

By removing a strong man like Saddam, we have opened the floodgates to Radical Islam. It is an ugly world that we have created over there.

The PM and the new government are mostly secular or sunni's.

What are you on about?

BTW, you do realize that he fled to Iran because he was no longer safe after most of his army was destroyed/ went against him. Only reason he is back is because the country is more stable now than when he left.

The present government is a joke that has no prospect for stability. It will be swept aside in a Radical Islamic tidal wave in the coming months.
