If Luck decides to stick around Stanford, I respect that. But I think he's making a big mistake.
Ask Matt Leinart and Jake Locker.
When you're a certain #1 pick (at worst, Top 3 but he'd go 1), you take the riches. Especially since the NFL's next CBA most likely will have a capped pay scale for rookies.
You can get your degree in the off season, dude.

If you are in your early 20's, being a 'big deal' in college is the bomb. If you didn't get it, then you are condemned to forever kissing the big dog's asses. "Oh please let me in your camp, I'm young and you can mentor me."

There is a big difference, Luck is thought of as a can't miss guy, everyone knew Leinert and Locker had flaws, he is a lock for number 1 next year too barring injury

Odds are Luck is #1 in 2012 as well.
