Not a choke job. Just an embarrassment. We still needed Kansas City to lose (which they might now next week with nothing on the line, but still). Just a soft performance by a soft team, gutted of talented by the egomaniac A.J. Smith and directed by a soft coach with no idea of how to instill mental toughness. Norv will keep his job, A.J. will remain as GM, and we have a world of trouble in store for us in 2011.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the players.I mean sure we can upgrade at some positions but it's not the players fault.
It's Norv's. That gameplan today was so predictable. How in anyway is he an "offensive genius"?

I hope there is no 2011 season. There seems to be a lockout looming. Good.
As long as the Chargers keep Turdner, I'd just as soon there not be a season.

The defense can't tackle. Cason is awful. The defensive line has a bunch of journeymen underachievers. Jamal Williams is sorely missed in the middle, the last drive was just an embarrassment of being able to stop the run. Sproles did nothing all season, don't let the door hit you Darren on the way out of town. Mathews showed glimpses today of what he's capable of.

I knew we were in deep s**t after we fumbled on the first play.

I like Weddle, move him to offense ala Wes Welker or the kid in St Louis. Oline needs to be upgraded. something is wrong. I agree with you on Sproles...every time the announcer said Sproles was quick, i wanted to laugh.

I gave up on this season right after the Jets loss last playoffs. I knew Norv would never get it done and it would be pointless to invest emotionally in another season only to see them choke it away again. Only thing that's going to bring me back to this team is if they fire Norv asap. Would love to see AJ Smith go too but that's highly unlikely.

The guys on the line played well, but they just lack that monster pass rusher or run stuffer. Someone like a Suh type player. Offensive line needs to be blown up, McNeill regressed, Clary was a disaster pretty much the whole year. Changes need to be made.

Am I incorrect to think that the farther away the Chargers are from the Schottenheimer era, the worse they play?
Just a thought.

Schottenheimer took what was basically the Detroit Lions of the AFC (1-15 in 2000) and made them a respectable franchise and playoff team. In one season Norv managed to get swept by the Raiders, lose to half the NFC west, and get blown out by the Cincinnati Bengals in a must win game.

What was very disappointing to me is.....this team sure didn't look like a team that had its season on the line.
It looked like they were playing Seattle in August.
If Norv comes back next season, AJ's ego has entered new, never before reached heights.

Horrible team out of the gate! No way you can go 1 & 3 or 2 & 2 at best if you think you are SB material.

I found it comical that Steve Tasker said that Norv and his staff would do some reflecting after the season to see what the problem was in regards to starting slow every season...this just in, a breaking news alert to the newsdesk...the reason for the slow starts is....drumroll please......NORVAL TURNER!

Well you can't blame the Colts. We tried to help you guys out as much as possible. We beat Kansas City. We beat Denver and we beat Oakland. And as usual we laid our traditional egg against the Chargers letting you walk all over us....again.
The Chargers are just a mystery to me. Some weeks they look like the best team in the league. Other weeks they look like the keystone cops. It's either Good Chargers or Bad Chargers showing up at the games. In Cincinnati it was Bad Chargers.

Poway - The Colts have enough issues on both sides of the ball, remind me a lot of the Chargers. A defense that cannot play the run consistently, a team that struggles with consistency....mirror images of each other in some ways. The Chargers problems can be fixed with a new coach and personnel changes.

Nobody knows how to CHOKE more than Marty. Remember the dubious distitnction he also earned in between AFC West titles of "the most talented team NOT to make playoff" in 2005? NOBODY has wanted Marty since he got fired from San Diego. Not a Norv fan by any means but Marty is just as CRAPPY of an option.

Not a Norv fan by any means but Marty is just as CRAPPY of an option. This... Marty is two times the coach Norv is. He won the games his teams were expected to win in the regular season, they always played hard, they never quit. He put his players IN POSITION to win, thats his job. You can't blame him for Eric Parker muffing a punt that may have sealed the New England playoff game, and you can't blame him for McCree fumbling his interception (just go down to the ground, bro). He didn't miss Kaeding chip shots in the Jets game (Part I-2004). Norv Turner is a loser of a head coach, and unless AJ's ego has reached the heights of the Empire State Building, he should be history. Problem is, we have an excellent chance of AJ Smith (who I know will be retained) hiring another "Yes Man" to be his head coach. If Norv is fired, expect AJ to stay away from the previous succesful types that may want to be a larger voice in personnel matters. Marty was fired from his job after a 14-2 season because Spanos's dumb ass thought AJ was the man behind all the success. He was proven wrong. Marty wasn't perfect, but he knew how to get his players motivated and have them playing hard.
