60 years after we saved South Korea from the grinding poverty and totalitarian brutality of the north, we are hated by many South Koreans. Well, as the old saying goes, No good deed goes unpunished. Anyway, the north still poses a grave threat and the south seems finally to have gotten the message. www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2010/12/21/the_guns_of_december?page=0,0 AzWm

The north is an economic shambles. The people and hence the Army of the north are/is emaciated and weak. Any conflict between regular armed forces would default to the South. They are very well trained and professional if their appearance and conduct. Short of a couple nuclear weapons detonations, I doubt that the north could hold up for long.
