NIL didn’t work for Keshad How did it not work out for him? He got paid a $#!+ ton of money, played more minutes than he did last year, played a bigger role and scored more points than he did last year. Also his team made it to the sweet 16 and actually showed up to it. That’s a hell of a “didn’t work out” lol

Not even close..... 1) the Syracuse nightmare in the first round Uconn is/was head and shoulders better than us.....More size, more skill and more discipline! Kind of hard to overcome those obstacles! The Syracuse battleship game? USD loss at Petco?? I'll concede the petco game as worse. uconn was a superior team, usd wouldn't have been in the game if the sun wasn't shining in the aztecs' eyes. Syracuse was a better team and they controlled the wind so that it only blew when the aztecs were shooting

i fear next year is going to be rough for many Aztec fans that never suffered during the Emerald 8 Era or our not so long ago string of NIT invites. Nothing can be worse than the Emerald 8. They did have those sweet red Bulls lookalike uniforms the 2019-2020 team brought back.

Your belief was misguided. ... it is what it is.... Sadly, while I hoped for a different outcome, this was a stress free game to watch as my expectations were so low. They are just better than we are in every area again this year. Sweet 16 back to back years for a mid-major is no small achievement but we gotta change something up on O.

even tho' the aztecs were destroyed today, remember they are in the top 16 in the nation. next year with some real guards that can make 3's and some rebounders, top 8. We are losing the heart and sole of our team with no replacement on the roster that I can see. I would not be surprised to see us take a step back next year. Hopefully our NIL limitations don't hurt us in the transfer portal again this offseason.

Despite losing by 30, it was nice to see that the announcing crew on TV was *so* complimentary in their comments about our program, right up to the bitter end. We’re not a Cinderella- we’re a program, and that can only continue to help us in the future.

Seriously what is this doom and gloom. well if people are freaking out about just making it to the Sweet 16, the odds are we dont get there next year. particularly when we lose our entire starting lineup.

I was at the game. Firstly, I am proud of our boys for making another SS. And yes, UConn is very good. But the effort we put forth tonight was really poor. We were losing guys on defense, not hustling for loose balls, no box outs, terrible body language, and of course, abominable shooting. Being there in person, I can tell you our guys were missing absolutely wide open shots. Perhaps all the travel got to them but I don’t remember us looking that disinterested. Travel is tough, but that’s the big dance.
I love Dutch but he has to find a way to prioritize offense. Both in recruiting and scheme. We need coaching help from the outside with a fresh set of eyes to reimagine this offense. I’m not sure of all our assistants roles but we need a 100% offensive focused assistant. Watching UConn run offense versus us is like watching a chess master versus a novice.
I knew tonight would be hard to win but I was expecting better. I’m still proud we got this far but it hurts right now.

Freaking out. Everyone with common sense know the ceiling for team after the transfer portal was a sweet 16. Can you wait and see who they get in the portal before you go into crazy mode.

Sweet 16 back to back years for a mid-major is no small achievement but we gotta change something up on O. I agree with you about the offense. Something definitely has to change. Please no more small guards. Gotta have guards 6'2 6'3" 6'4". Also, get consistent knock down shooters. Another thing, get big men with strength. Got to chill with the 7 feet 200 pound players I'm watching Illinois vs Iowa State and Alabama vs North Carolina. I am a wee bit jealous of the shot making.

Wrap it up. Do we have any alumni willing to pay to get a guy like Evans? All of AztecMesa come together, donate $20 and that should be enough for a NIL deal for a big... We don’t need another big guy with no offensive game. We need elite guards who can slash, shoot, and create for others.

Well with our shooters they certainly get plenty of rebounding opportunities.

I love people on a message board telling maybe the best staff in America how they should change. Recruiting, or purchasing in today’s world, is so complicated and tenuous that you really are taking chances. And yet we thrive, often agsivst 5 star recruits. We just finished a run of 5 amazing seasons. Culminating in a National championship appearance and a sweet 16. And you think they should stop what they are doing and listen to you guys? Ungrateful, delusional and really not understanding the landscape at all.
This program is a shining light and has been. Dutcher has made it shine even brighter.

Being nervous about the future is a very normal way to cope with frustration. And also, Dutch is a great coach and we have a great program.
The horizon is going to be a beautiful site, we just have to remember to appreciate it (like appreciating a finals appearance followed by a Sweet 16 appearance).

I’m still proud we got this far but it hurts right now. I've said it before, and gotten roasted on here for it, but Dutcher is not a competent offensive coach. He's just not. If we can't rebound and score in transition we're screwed. Get all the shooters you want, we will still suck on offense until we get someone in some role or another that can implement a more advanced offensive scheme. LeDee only averaged 20+ this season because he's a physical freak, and we just force it in to him and hope for the best. Imagine if we had an offense tailored to our players rather than just a "LeDee or (low percentage) 3" approach. I love that we are a defense first team, but take some of that defensive genius and craft an offense that puts players in a position to succeed, rather than letting sub 30% shooters jack up threes without correction.

Guard play is not good enough for Purdue, on the other hand UConn did not exactly win the battle with Ledee, so they are going to struggle with Edney, and they dont have the depth. If Purdue does make it, UConn will win easily. Purdue’s guard play is much improved over last season. But UConn is just so good.
