Timely hitting. Darvish looked good. Let's get the next one. .295 with RISP so far - after last year's nightmare that's YUGE.

Say it ain't so, Joe…Oh yeah, it's early. He's certainly not fooling anybody so far. A lot of the outs are on hard hit balls, as well.

Now Egay makes an out at third after a dropped fly ball by the Giants outfield. Not really sure why he's up here, but he won't be for long with plays like that. Aggressive base running is usually laudable, but was not in this case.

Musgrove did not look good again today. He left a lot of pitches up in the zone, and got rocked. A lot of his outs were hit hard. Yes, concerned although I'm looking forward to him turning it around, and quick like.

Musgrove battled some command issues, but did a great job limiting damage after the first. Clearly didn't have the breaking stuff to his comfort level tonight. Offense didn't really help him much, either.

Offense didn't really help him much, either. He was very lucky a lot of those hard hit balls were right at somebody. He looked like the old Joe in the sixth to the number 6 and 7 batters and then gave up a hard hit single to the number 8 batter before getting pulled. Hopefully he's working his way out of it.

Padres never crawled out of their early hole tonight.
The Padres may not play again until Monday.
EDIT: The Padres are still planning to play on Saturday. Good luck with that.

The only thing that's really evident right now (and has been for months) is that the team needs to solve left field. A clear bat short of being a worthy title contender, and that's not being filled by giving Jurickson Profar 450+ plate appearances in the outfield.

Well, they might've already missed out on Pham. Roomers about him rejoining St. Louis given Carlson's injury.

Whats up with Pauley? If the Padres aren't going to play him why have him on the roster? the Padres are not doing his development any favors. I would either start him and see what we have or send him back to the minors.
