Another tough night, San Diego. Now Cease is taking his turn at dropping a stinking Shidt on the mound. Join the club. What lame excuses will we have to listen to after this one… I was saying our loud, "Throw another curve ball"" on that fastball pitch to Bohm. Right down the middle, up. Sheesh. Instead, should have called for a "Cease Fire".

Walks are King's favorite and they bite him in the ass. He has 20 walks in 33 innings. Leads the league, I believe. I hope he has settled down after giving up the 2 run homer, after a walk.

Bingo, Bongo. Friggin A King. Another walk, followed by another home run. Absolutely horrible. He's been horrible this year.

Single, home run, and another walk. King is absolutely horrible. He may set an all time record for walks. Maybe for home runs as well. So far, a huge bust. Very disappointing.

Blake Snell walked more batters in his first 5 starts last year. I'm not saying that King will turn into Snell, but King has a long way to go to equal Snell's 99 BB last season.

Very difficult to see this team as nothing other than a Preller Dweller, ie 3rd or 4th and no play offs. Side note: I could be WAY off, but are there any other teams that have a 6 foot first baseman? Mercifully, this will be Preller's last farrago called a team.

And Cronenworth is miles better than Hosmer was with the Padres.

2 teams going in very different directions early this season.
The Phillies are 8-2 in their last 10 games, while the Padres are 3-7.
The Phillies are 9 games over .500, while the Padres are 3 games under.

Phillies sweep the Padres in convincing fashion.
Good pitching usually shuts the Padres down, just like last year.

Padres have now lost 9 of their last 12 games. They suck. Both literally and figuratively. But say hey!
It's Still Early!

Shildt talks a good game after wins. After losses not so much.

It's always possible for them to win the next 9 out of 12 games … but the probability is closer to zero than to one.

I'm feeling fairly confident we can forget about a repeat of the magical "RAK" '84 season that I was hoping for We were 18-13 after 31 games in 1984--but we were in the early stages of a 7 game losing streak at that point.

Nice 0-2 pitch to De La Cruz, Waldron. Who are you, Michael King? Sheesh. 0-2, down the middle. Horrible.
