Waters has been incredibly consistent, he’s just clearly playing hurt right now

He has been playing well but his injury has slowed him down
He had been our second best player but it seems the ankle has bothered him
Hope he is improving as he is quite valuable on both ends of the court - need his size against their good sized guards - he also is one of the teams best rebounders

As we noticed the Lobos have some decent younger players and so do other teams Will Waters , Parrish use their extra season to improve their game next season be it at SDSU or another school - Even Butler looks as though he could use another season Also do Heide - Saunders start improving more then they have ? Also Bryd As Dutcher said after the game - there is still a lot of basketball to be played We will see what guys continue to develop their game - I think Heide has improved considerably given his age and experience. He didn't play varsity HS ball till his Sophomore year and wasn't in that year-round AAU Basketball circuit from the time he was little either. Miles played football too. He's already a good rebounder and considering his age, not a bad defender. Miles has 25% more Offensive rebounds than Defensive ones. He's the only person on the team like that and it's not even close. He just needs to get stronger and more aggressive with the ball on offense. I think he knows his main job now is to give relief to LaDee and rebound. The scoring in the post will come. He's got incredible genes for the 5 and I think will keep getting better the rest of the year. Saunders, we'll have to see what happens there. I'm not sure he has the heart and toughness to take advantage of his size and skill set. Hope he does.

Dutcher and other coaches on the radio
same thing they have been saying have to play tougher on defense and rebounding - hopefully the message will sink in

The Nevada game is was it is only 1 game
But the younger players had a less then encouraging game
Saunders , Heide , Bryd all were having their difficulties and PT seemed to lessen as the game went on - as did their contributions - also even though DT did not play - neither did BJ Davis
Do hope there will be improvements coming
Waters seems to be back on track and Jay Pal have made good strides both experienced players

UNLV and USU have a very good freshman guard

I doubt we will rarely, if ever, have a "good" freshman PG. Dutch likes experienced guys. Not even sure Davis will get the reins when DT and Butler are gone. More likely, a transfer PG with BJ the backup next year. Can't believe Davis's defense is so bad he can't get ANY minutes in a game. When he does get in now, he tried to do too much and ends up usually doing nothing good.
I'd love to see him get some of DT's minutes while playing with someone besides the end-of-the-bench guys. I know he hasn't shown it at all yet but his history is that of a 50-40-90 shooter. They don't come along often and I'd hate to see him flourish somewhere else especially when we need shooters.

would tend to agree in today's world of transfers - hope that Dutcher can find places for BJ to get some minutes with the regular rotation but unfortunately all the games are important and unless there is a blow out not sure if they give him the needed PT

If McKinney @ USD were to enter the transfer portal the Aztecs should take a very hard look at him. As a local he might be very receptive to their blandishments.
