Fox News has been PROVEN to be nothing more than the propaganda wing of the Republican Party. Evidence was provided IN COURT showing that they skew the news the way they want, and they ignore the news that contradicts their talking points. There are always illegal crossings of the border. There were under Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, Obama, TRUMP, and now Biden. This is nothing new. People living in horrific conditions are always going to come here. You would, too, in their position. But what's happening now is nothing new. Arrests of illegal immigrants at the border is higher than ever, so - again - clearly the border is not, "Open." If you want the flow of illegal immigrants to stop, then you should support the U.S. Government helping the governments of the Central American countries these people come from. Helping them to build their economies and helping them to clamp down on drug cartels is what will stop the flow of illegal immigrants coming to the United States, not harsher enforcement. They're coming no matter what as long as life is desperate in their home countries. But since arrests are in the millions you cannot say the border is, "Open." Saying that the border is open is foolish and easily disproven. |

Here's why it's more complicated than you realize: The Remain in Mexico program was/is a humanitarian nightmare. It's not a solution. Title 42 was enacted under the auspices of a public health intervention during the pandemic, likewise not a permanent solution. The Supreme Court, the same one you see today, ruled in the administration's favor of ending Remain in Mexico in the fact that having the authority exists in their power. What you are seeing now is a byproduct of a post-COVID surge of immigrants from a ton of different countries and Congress' failure to pass any significant immigration reform. The people are going to come either way. They don't have a choice. Unfortunately, one party wants immigration, the other does not. |

These issues are all linked, I hijacked nothing. Obviously McCarthy had a tenuous grip on his speakership and GOP members of the House felt their issues of spending/national debt and border security were not being addressed. They had leverage and the support of all Democrats, so they pulled the trigger.
It was probably the stupidest thing they could have done, but it happened regardless.
