Like usual you are either too lazy or stupid to review the underlying issues. If you did you would see that the problems have nothing to do with political ideology and everything to do with university president E. Gordon Gee of little sisters of the poor fame. Gee has a history of leaving deficits at every school he runs WVU is projected to have a 75 million budget deficit, not due to budget cuts, but due to lower enrollment and loan payments on building projects. He is stepping down after the faculty gave a no confidence vote. Money doesn’t grow on trees. When enrollment drops by 10 percent since 2015 but you continue to green light building projects that cost over 200m, that could be an issue. Educate yourself

It's a deep red state. They don't need no stinkin' 'rithmatic! Actually it’s the problem of liberal fiscal irresponsibility. Gee was living in a multi million dollar house, traveling on private jets for personal use all while the university was bleeding money. He continued to run the school on a budget of expected enrollment of 40k when the actual enrollment is 26k. The problem with liberalism is sooner or later you run out of others money. That’s what happened here. He is leaving in disgrace just like he did at Ohio state, Vanderbilt, and others. Programs are being cut because liberal university administrators spent like a crazy. They now have to cut academics, but at least they have fancy new buildings and $64k in bow ties.

There was nothing political in your post. That wrong turn was made by a couple of other posters.
While I can see a few of those programs could easily be cut with no harm to the academics of WVU (MM Collaborative Piano, MM Composition, MM Jazz Pedagogy) most of the others are completely absurd choices. If the cuts are needed because of a reduction in students, then reduce the programs on the same ratio as the reduced student population with those majors. Right size the faculty, not gut major academic studies.

Don't apologize. I think you are making a valid point. We seem to be coming to an exigency in college sports---well football at least. The greed is expediting the rise in costs, while the fan support is dwindling, which could kill off this "golden" goose. Instead of creating a more affordable entertainment venue, they are putting it out of reach of the "common man". There WILL be consequences.

Can you argue that, for some (many?) college has become a scam? If not, why is there such a strong push in certain circles to forgive all college debt? Thousands of college students have ruined their lives by taking on debt that they will struggle to pay back, and college administrators who know better encouraged them.
Much of this debt was garnered taking core courses - in the internet age, how many professors teaching English 101 do we really need? Many courses should be basically free, but that doesn’t support the system, so it doesn’t happen. Anyone who rages against this machine has some basis to do so.

What the literal F are you babbling about. All the msnbc talking points you spotted off, I’m sure you will get a morning Joe brownie point, have nothing to do with why West Virginia is forced to slash budget. When you can’t defend your stupid azz comments you deflect. Either show how West Virginia slashing budget is a result of Republicans dumbing down society or shut the F up. You’re making San Diego State look like the educate morons, which, in your case is apparently true. Talk sports! If you are going to talk politics, at least present facts you sound like a moron
