247sports.com/article/san-diego-state-hosts-te-commit-arthur-ban-222784093/After a coaching change, it gave Ban an opportunity to meet new head coach Sean Lewis and get a view into the future of the Aztecs.
"All in all the official visit was absolutely amazing, far above what I expected and made me extremely confident in my decision and I can now happily say my recruitment is 100% closed," said Ban.
He said the staff showed they were ready for the future and the present.
"What stood out the most to me was how kind everyone was and how surprisingly organized everything was for how new this staff is," said Ban.
Meeting with Lewis wowed Ban.
"I got to have great conversations with all of the coaches but spent the most time talking with coach Lewis, coach (Ryan) Lindley, and coach (Zac) Barton," said Ban. "My first impression on coach Lewis was different from any other college coach I’ve ever spoken to. He seemed extremely genuine and continuously stressed his philosophy on putting his people first to ensure success for his programs."
The coaching staff impressed him throughout the entire visit.
"Talking with the coaches was great," said Ban. "They talked a lot about their visions of change in the program and how we’re going to go about reaching our goals. We also got to talk about possibly playing early due to there only being one scholarship tight end on the roster right now."
He was able to spend time with current players and visitors.
"My host was Jaylon Armstead and I really hung out with everyone," said. "I wouldn’t even single out any people, we all got pretty close, stuck together, and bonded extremely well with each other."
The current commits were working on quarterback visitor Danny O'Neil. "We were all definitely trying to get Danny to pull the trigger and join in on what we have going on," said Ban. "He’s a really cool guy and I’d love to have him as my quarterback."
The Southwest Washington native was floored by how much he loved San Diego.
"The city was absolutely breathtaking, so much culture and things to do," said Ban. "It was definitely a lot to take in but an amazing change of pace compared to back home."
Ban said he's still debating on when he'll enroll but knows he'll sign next week.
"I’m signing on December 20th," said Ban. "I’m going to see what my options for early enrolling are when I get home but as of now I’m set to be on campus next fall."
Ban is a three-star in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, the No, 80 tight end by 247Sports and the No. 18 prospect in the state of Washington in 2024.

A lot to unpack in that interview, all of it great. Gotta like how things are progressing.

At 6'5" he certainly has the "throw-the-ball-up-for-grabs" size but at 205 lbs, he may be more like a slower WR. Not sure how much run blocking he can do without some serious weight room time. But you can't coach size so that's a plus.

would guess that the coaches would enjoy having a TE with height - would hope that the TE's are also guys that can catch the ball not simply blockers
He might after he puts on some physical muscle be a guy that could be valuable
