I thought it would be highlighting Pal but he barely shows up. I think he hits one shot and misses another in the last minute. He loses his man on defense a couple times and doesn't get any rebounds. If you only watched this you wouldn't be impressed at all. In fact, he was 11-18 FG (2-7 from 3)for 26 points with 10 rebounds (5 offensive). He also had 4 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. He played 39 out of 40 minutes and had just 1 TO. Campbell choked away the game. They were a #7 seed and were up by 14 points over the #1 seed with a little over 7 minutes left in the game.

I don't know, or honestly really care who gets more minutes... I am very content that we have enough talent at the position so we'll have a great starter and a very good backup.

I don't see Jay Pal, playing "the 5" as much as the 3 to 4 spots. I do believe we need a true Center, perhaps with experience (Senior/GTR) for this upcoming season, beyond LeDee posts are young and inexperienced. Ledee = 6'9 240 GTR, Ohio State 1yr, TCU 2yr, SDSU 1yr.: 118 games, 4 starts, 1,574 minutes or 13.3 minutes per game. Saunders = 6'8 240 Soph, 1yr SDSU: 16 games, 0 starts, 93 minutes or 5.8 minutes per game. Johnson = 6'10 210 RS Soph, 2yr SDSU, sat 1 yr: 9 games, 0 starts, 31 minutes or 3.4minutes per game. Heide = 6'9 225 Freshman, HS N/A games, N/A starts, N/A minutes

a lot depends on if the Aztecs can get enough at the 5 from Ledee - Shay - Heide or can add some one
Coaches will work to see what they will need to do to make things work or still see who maybe available

would think it would be beneficial for the newer players from last year and this year try to get in as much time as they can with the staff and used to SDSU
But realize that some do not come in until SS 2
Again the more time they spend learning the system on both sides of the court and their team mates sure helps

Plus Lamont is back from Vegas. Jordan Shackel and Sky Spencer are in as well. No confirmation for either Jay Pal & RWD? No confirmation for either freshman, Davis & Heide. Bradley, Seiko, Mensah, with NBA/pro workouts, and Keshad in Tucson, AG assumed retired. Aztecs got this!

Assume that Jay Pal is officially a grad transfer, and does not need a waiver.

Men’s Basketball Jay Pal: The 6’9” power forward played at Campbell University. Out of his three major college seasons, last year was his most productive year, making an impact on the court. In 32 games as a starter, Pal averaged 12.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 31.0 minutes per game. In addition, he totaled 221 rebounds, 48 blocks, 45 assists and 30 steals. He also led the Camels in rebounds, offensive boards, blocks, and field goal percentage. In just 993 minutes, Pal has the second most defensive rebounds for the Camels men’s basketball program while also leading the team in field goals, points, assists and steals. Reese-Dixon Waters: As the reigning Pac-12 sixth man of the year, Waters has spent the past seasons at the University of Southern California. During the 2022-23 season, Waters was the Trojan’s third-leading scorer, averaging 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25.3 minutes per game. He set career-bests in rebounds (93), steals (21) and blocks (12) in a career-high 734 minutes on the court. Of all players who came off the bench at least 20 times this past season, Reese-Dixon averaged 10.3 points per game in appearances, which ranked No.17 in the nation. Among those on that list who stand at least 6’5, Reese-Dixon’s points per game coming off the bench were the sixth-highest in the nation.
