Cold weather affecting H.S. Kim tonight or combining that with the change in position. Unfortunately, his E-6 just cost them a run … his first ricochet was ruled a single, but it was definitely playable. Manny just saved the game. Garcia almost blew another one. Just got an insurance run. Hader needs to close it out.

That sure turned into a nail biter, but Hader finally closed it out. Good win.

Nelson Cruz' batted ball was 108MPH off the bat. And there it goes! Holy Cow. The hits just keep coming… LOL Rickey is still the oldest Padre to ever hit a home run. But he won't be after tomorrow…

Kim makes it 8–0.
Padres Power Sources are humming tonight.
Great that they're demonstrating their power to the ESPN audience, too. While Sunday Night Baseball likely doesn't have the audience of Sunday Night Football, lots of families are spending the Easter holiday together today, and there are probably quite a few of them watching tonight's game.

White Sox Catcher (and SDSU player) Seby Zavala was at the heart of a brawl vs the Pirates. Pittsburgh Pirates SS ONeil Cruz broke his ankle sliding into home. Zavala viewed the slide, which was directly into his ankles, as a dirty play and yelled something at the injured Cruz. This caused the benches to clear and the typical baseball pushing and shoving ensued.
Zavala is starting to establish himself as quality MLB catcher, he has been hitting.

Shouldn't be yelling something at a guy on the ground who just broke his ankle. Pretty much guaranteed to piss off the Pirates and cause benches to clear.

Watching that video was really unnerving - at first just one guy basically trying to cover Cruz while both teams were within striking/tripping distance. Then after things settled down, and Cruz collected a few more protectors, the bullpens arrived and the scrum surged again. Crazy.
Meanwhile, Padres manage just two hits while striking out 14 times tonight. That's not going to win many ballgames.
What a completely different result than last night's win with their offensive explosion.
24 hours later, the Padres couldn't get their collective thumbs out of their AZZZZZZZZtecs long enough to put together two decent ABs in a row.
Wow.

Weathers gets himself out of a mess (though he made it himself). Last year, however, the mess would've ended up as the Mets being up 3-0 in the first inning. I'm calling that progress - of a sort, anyway.
Hader did not look sharp tonight, but he got the job done.
Padres Win!!

Bogaerts is having a great start to his season. That was one hell of a signing (so far)!

Another Snellian start - nearly 50 pitches in the first two innings, sigh.

Nola has a hole in his bat and is getting run upon at will. Padres should have kept Aquaman as their veteran C.

It's time for Campy to step up… and take over. Nola should be spelling him by the end of this season.

Couldn't overcome another poor night at the plate. Garcia rarely disappoints in crunch time, either. D'oh!
