or could they simply enforce the rule and make the player sit a season similar to what Ledee do
Is it stated correctly that if a coach pulls a scholarship from a player that the player can not transfer ? or is it that the player has to sit a year before they can play again
Take it a Grad transfer can still transfer ?

I read it as he/she will have to sit a year, which makes zero sense to me.

Saw where Ike Graham just entered the portal. What the hell is going on in Laramie? Here's a short article on Ike and other MWC Transfers, from sports writer Chris Murray in Reno. KJ Jenkins from New Mexico was recently added to this list. He was a co-captain who was their 3-pt specialist. He shot 43.6% from 3 last year. And yesterday, their 6' 8" 235lb PF, Josiah Allick, joined the transfer portal. He was an 8.7 ppg and 7.3 rebounds/game guy who just transferred there last year. He was very active in the community and the fans loved how hard he played. He had expressed enthusiasm for next year's team after the season was over so everyone is shocked and very upset he's suddenly leaving. He and their transfer center who just graduated, Udeze, completely changed their team down low last year. Now they have to start all over again. Speculation has ranged from him being worried Pitino will bring in a whole load of new bigs to affect his playing time to Mashburn and House being the ball hogs they are and consistently taking harder shots instead of passing to the bigs. Now add another starter, 6’6” Javonte Johnson who entered the portal March 24. That’s 4 players with people thinking there may be one more.

Some guard rails should be placed on transferring more than once so I understand the NCAA’s position. We can’t just have mercenaries that switch teams every year. You will have outliers like Bynum from providence where this new rule seems unfair, but this is expected. This will force kids to really think hard about where they’re transferring to, which I think is a good thing.

Allick seemed to me to be a "glue guy" for NM, frequently making good plays in the shadows of their big 3 players. Found myself wishing that he was an Aztevc.
Maybe it ain't too late?

would guess that the Aztec coaches have reached out to numerous players in the Portal and then wait to see what players have interest . For the guys who have played in the MW the coaches may have an idea of what they think of them .
key of course becomes what players show any interest in SDSU

I doubt he will get drafted so he’ll come back to CSU

Tonight's W should get us a few more looks from players in the Portal.

Tonight's W should get us a few more looks from players in the Portal. It should attract guys that either like playing defense or want to learn. I think KJ moves on after this season. It's a great way to go out. I'll sure miss him on defense though.

Landing IKE & ISAIAH would be a beautiful thing. Add ALLICK and the Aztecs would be seet for their next run.
Maybe add some Tonje for extra clutch scoring.
All of these players are well scouted by the Aztecs.

Not sure Dutcher wants to alienate that many conference coaches. They're all pretty tight I think.
Even if we're leaving (someday hopefully) that doesn't seem like Dutcher's style especially now that we'll probably have an even bigger group of national P-5 players to choose from.

SDSU is already looking at both Ike and UNLV Keshon Gilbert. So clearly they don’t care about looking at MW players. Also, last year SDSU was trying to get Cambridge and Washington from Nevada. Washington would have been here if Mensah didn’t come back.

I don't like Ike's injury history and Gilbert's had an attitude problem. He got suspended for head-butting an opposing player.

All true but SDSU desperately need a defensive Center and a efficient offensive SG next year. Would rather have the Mitchell kid from Pepperdine and Gilbert only shot 38.4% from 3 and averaged about 3 TOs a game. We can do better than that. Ike is only 6'9" and only averaged .3 blocks a game. That won't cut it as a rim protector.

Ike has 5 more rebounds than Mensah and we don’t need to talk the difference in the offense game.

does not hurt to inquire about as many guys as possible to see who might be interested in SDSU -
See who responds and then do the research as much as possible both on the court , in the locker room and as much as you can about things off the court .

John Tonje from Colorado State is in the portal. 6’5 guard who averaged 14.6 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 38.9% from 3 and 81.5% from the line. He attempted more free throws than anyone on our team. Tonje persuded by P6 teams, no surprise. Tonje getting love from the P6's
