Despite the frustration of the Padres at times, how fun is it to see what both Pujols & Judge are doing!!!
A month ago there was ZERO chance Pujols gets to 700, now it's a definite possibility. In addition to that chase, other milestone lists he's climbing:
Sac flies
Pujols ranks tied for fourth in MLB history with 121 (with Hank Aaron, Frank Thomas).
Next up: Robin Yount -- 123
At-bats
Pujols ranks seventh in MLB history with 11,334.
Next up: Eddie Murray -- 11,336
Runs
Pujols ranks 11th in MLB history with 1,900.
Next up: Derek Jeter -- 1,923
Multi-hit games
Pujols ranks 10th in MLB history with 941.
Next up: Tony Gwynn -- 951
His career accomplishments are insane.
Judge is currently on pace to hit 63, setting the AL record! Some would argue ML record. How smart was he to bet on himself & not sign a long term contract before the season started!

To see both Judge, arguably in the mid-prime of his career, and Albert Pujols, definitely in the twilight of his now both wrecking pitches right now is great for baseball.
But maybe, just because Albert's "best if pitched to" date is rapidly approaching, I'm cheering for him to get to the 700 HR achievement slightly more. It would be an awesome way for him to leave the game. Talk about going out on a high note …
Baseball history does tend to favor fairy-tale endings, though, so I hope both of them can reach their goals before the last game of the season.

I'd almost be willing to bet that Pujols will likely see another professional AB or hundred after this season. He's still got plenty of PT left. Nothing to lose by doing it again - except he might have to give back all the retirement gifts. LOL
