That was quick. Lamet's certainly been on a whirlwind, to say the least.

Just got caught in a no-win situation with Milwaukee. Apparently they were happy to get him, but he didn't slot in anywhere and was out of options.

Honestly I'm not sure Lamet is ever the pitcher he once was unless he rolls the dice with a second TJ. His career is over if that happens. Clev has had 2 TJ's. You're stating that Lamet's career is over if he has a second. Explain.

His first one was in college when he was at Citadel. The graft held up. The reason Lamet didn't get surgery was because his would have been twice in three years. That's a much different situation. The list of guys that have had multiple Tommy John surgeries that close together and came back successfully is very short. Cole Ragans for Texas made his MLB debut the other day after he had it twice in 14 months, but he's 24. Doctors even asked him if he wanted to do the second one and go through another rehab process because it's grueling to do that twice. It's why many guys opt for PRP instead or rest/rehab. He's not a spring chicken and his slider-dominant profile puts a lot of strain on the forearm/elbow.

Well, if he can't figure out a way to become productive again, would it make sense to get one in a couple of years?

Outside of one shortened season, he's never been anything great. He's a one pitch pony.

Yep, Clevinger is not very good anymore. He can't get past the 5th, or 6th inning it seems, after the batters have seen him once or twice. Disappointing. That was in reference to Lamet, not Clevinger
