No jokes, please. Saturday night, after I returned from the CSU game, I started to have a sore throat. And coughing. Very hoarse voice. Basically the same today.
Anyway, I have a Covid test scheduled. . . FOR THE 18TH OF JANUARY!!!!!!! What the hell?
Why weren't billions of tests ordered on day 1 of the current administration? Oh, I understand. No politics on this topic.
But seriously, what good is a test a week from today? By then, I will either be over whatever I have, or I'll be dead. Moreover, are we supposed to be tested every 3 or 4 days? Till when? In any event, if one tests negative today, he/she may get the virus tomorrow. It's obvious that the vaccines do not prevent one from getting Covid. I've had my 2 shots plus the booster. If I turn out to have had Covid, those shots will not have prevented my getting sick. Very possibly the illness, if I did have it, may have been made much less severe because of the shots. Good. I urge everyone (well, almost everyone) to get the shots.
I think it was a mistake to have suggested that we could vaccinate our way out of this pandemic. And the administration's reluctance to discuss therapeutics, natural immunity, and immunity gained by having survived the virus has been a mistake. And the harmful effects of the shutdowns was ignored for way too long.
I guess we should be glad we don't live in China. Have you checked their new lockdown?

Our school district has 3 locations. It’s a just stand in line and you don’t have to be a student. The results use to come in 24 hours but now they are asking for 72 hours. Basically your kid will be out sick all week.

The county has several walk up locations for testing. Go an hour or two before opening and bring a chair to sit in. And a mask. And your phone. It may take you two or three hours but you will have results within 24 hours. You can do this tomorrow morning. Be safe out there.

I'm sick, too. One of my daughter's friends tested positive for COVID last week, she got sick on Monday, then I got sick yesterday.
She shrugged it off, no problem (double vaccinated, and she's only 21). Me? I feel like crap. Like I've got the flu. I imagine it would be worse if I weren't vaccinated, but, still, I'm not a happy camper today.

I'll give you a hint, you weren't "vaccinated." You were given a potential therapeutic at best. And even that is a reach as those most at risk of dying from Covid are still dying from it. If you are not taking zinc, vitamin D3 and C, and large quantities of quercetin you should be right now. If you are behind on the zinc, try to score some hydroxychloroquine. It is an excellent zinc ionophore, much better than quercetin. The latter works if you have been taking in in conjunction with zinc over weeks. As one doctor put it, zinc is the bullet (against these type of viruses). Quercetin is a .22 gun while HCQ is at 50 caliber.

Imagine that - two mutated strains later and I get sick. Shocking. It's like getting the flu shot. If you come in contact with the strain you're vaccinated against you'll likely get nothing, but if it's a different strain you'll likely get sick, just not as sick as you would without the vaccine. Same thing. And, yes, I've been on the C and Zinc things for a couple weeks.

I know, facts are currently a hot topic … but the vaccines are developed by a German company called BioNTech. Pfizer is only the distributor of the vaccine. So your point is definitely wrong.
And BioNTech is a start up that is predominantly family owned.

And BioNTech is a start up that is predominantly family owned. Odd comment. First, Pfizer does clinical trials, manufacturing, and distribution. BioNTech is a public company, run by two billionaires. BioNTech and Pfizer had been in development on mRNA tech, for a flu vaccine, for years before COVID. I don't know what point you think is wrong - should I have said "Don't worry, Pfizer & BioNTech will be out with their Omicron vaccine just in time for the next variant"? The point is that we're chasing and always will be. It would be like a flu vaccine every year that only helped against the last year's strains, not what the docs think will circulate this year.
