Even with the adrenaline flowing, the Padres will have a hard time matching the Dogs in intensity right now. With practically no pitching and very weak hitting. this isn't going to go well.
The Dogs are rising as fast as the Padres are sinking. Let's hope the Padres can turn it around after the day off … not that they haven't been taking plenty of days off lately.

Right now, this team is a disaster and they need to figure out out to fix it!!! There's a reason there are so many injuries and I'm not sure "bad luck" is the only possibility. If players had known medical issues that were ignored or glossed over - and later resulted in the $#!+show we've all experienced over the last month …

Sadly I'm at the point now where I'm rooting for a Dodgers' sweep, i.e. I want the Pads KO'd ASAP so the day-to-day suffering can end and we can start focusing on what will hopefully be a much happier 2022.

Hoping we can take 2 of 3 vs. LAD, then turn it around on the road against lower tier teams & get back on solid footing heading into the "gauntlet" of our schedule. I want a pennant race for as long as I can get it!!
Question - what's the logic of a bullpen game on Thursday vs. LAD rather than pitching Musgrove on normal rest? He didn't throw an abnormal # of pitches so curious why they'd push him to Friday? My guess is they just want to avoid back-to-back bullpen days on Friday & Saturday, but curious what others think?
Really had hoped Darvish would be back, unless the plan is to either surprise & activate him Thursday OR Saturday?

Really had hoped Darvish would be back, unless the plan is to either surprise & activate him Thursday OR Saturday? That sounds like a plan. I think it would have to depend largely on how Darvish looks and feels over the next few days. It seemed from reports that he's pretty much ready to go - barring any setbacks - so I can't imagine that if he is ready that he wouldn't be slotted in to pitch against the Dogs. He's #1. I really can't believe that they wouldn't slot in all of their able-bodied and trustworthy starters for the series. Losing at this point isn't really an option. So unless the known quantities are simply unable to go, they should be out there on the mound for this series. At some point - and I think that if this isn't that point, it probably better be - you gotta focus on and worry about today and let tomorrow take care of itself. Only 36 games left now, and Every Game Matters.

Well, so much for this series. The Dodgers dominated the Padres in every conceivable area. San Diego is not a team that is likely to be competing in the post season, and this series is illustrative of why they won't…
