Ignorance is bliss. Until you or someone(s) you infected is waiting on a ventilator to become available... This current virus needs to be taken seriously. But people need to stop listening to all the doomsdayers. The projections were way off and there are plenty of ventilators available. You and everyone else should know that. There are still a lot of politics being played and it's disgusting. We have been told by leading health officials that April was going to be a tough month. Without argument, it has been. However, it takes roughly 20 to 25 days or more for a person to fall victim to fatality once showing symptoms of Covid-19. People should know that as well. Overall, casses have flattened, and that's a positive. Some sports are planning to come back soon. The PGA is talking about June and there has been other sports trying to come up with something. Parts of Europe are trying to open back up slowly. And that's a good sign. Will things be back to normal soon? Most likely not for a while. But it will gradually get better. It has to!! Thing 1: There's going to be a double-bump on the Covid curve with this "Open Up" action. You can bank on it. I haven't even bothered to check the latest American death count, but it is well into the tens of thousands as of a few days ago. Now, if "only 3% of Americans become fatalities", which seems to be the party line among the "Open Up" set, that's over 9 million people on the hook. Will it reach 9 million? I don't know, but would they claim victory if "only" half that die? How about just 1 million? 500,000? That's what we lost in WW2. Thing 2: If there are "plenty of ventilators" why are there nurses outside the White House right now pleading for access to more ventilators, amongst other equipment?

The current projection is 60,000 U.S deaths from Covid-19. That's down from the ridiculous early doomsday projections of millions or even 500K. And states that ordered way too many ventilators are shipping them elsewhere. Unfortunately infectious diseases kill millions of people every year. Why, who knows including top health officials. Influenza kills 700,000 to a million people every year and there are vaccines for certain strains. Vaccines are not cures. We need to move forward cautiously or things will get worse and the virus will win.

How many deaths do some of you want? Go ahead and open up now and watch the dead stack up and then go into quarantine again. This thing is much more contagious than the flu and about 40 times as deadly. The "doomsday" projections were probably accurate as they assumed none of the sheltering in place or social-distancing actions. We already lead the world in deaths so why not try for more?

Americans that are about to lose everything thank you and the people with an agenda. 👍 www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-09/fauci-says-u-s-virus-deaths-may-be-60-000-halving-projectionswww.npr.org/2020/04/09/830664814/fauci-says-u-s-coronavirus-deaths-may-be-more-like-60-000-antibody-tests-on-way

U.S. population 330 + million. Germany is slowly reopening and others will follow.

Body bags ! Seriously. I remember a time when Magic Johnson contracted the HIV virus and the fear of almost all players. They wouldn't play with him for fear of catching the virus Well we got past that and with a few changes basketball continued as usual I kinda think the same will happen here. And by the way if your waiting for a vaccine to go back to normal there is still no vaccine for HIV Ignorance is bliss. Until you or someone(s) you infected is waiting on a ventilator to become available...

Why do you feel the need to argue every little thing even when you are clearly wrong or need to twist words to try to be right?

Looks like my argument has been a lot closer than yours the whole time. Also, I did not twist any words. The poster stated world not individual countries. That was twisted. And this coming from the guy who constantly is arguing his doomsday projections and posted back in February that millions of people in the U.S. were going to die. Ignorant no, Realistic , yes to suggest I'm out there infecting people now thats ignorant and btw no one has gone without a respirator. Just curious, has anybody heard of any Aztec fans that were in Vegas high fiving each other and in a crowded environment come down with the virus. I have not from my circle of fellow Aztec fans. Just curious. Think it's time to get back to talking Aztec sports

To any sane person that means the US has more deaths than any other country, not the US has more deaths than other countries combined. James Harden led the NBA in points last year, by your thought process that means he scored more points than several of the top players combined together, not that he scored more than any other single player like every rational person would think it means.

I don't know if the 'Open er up!' crowd will claim victory on 1 million deaths PUBLICLY, but you best bet they will say it behind closed doors. Maybe 3 million or 5, too, so long as it's the right deaths. Put the working classes out on the front-lines while the bespoke crowd works remotely or collects their dividends from the safety of their well-appointed bug-out shelter.

I would like to see a credible source where the President used the word "Lysol" "bleach" or named any specific disinfectant. Because you won't find one.

I would like to see a credible source where the President used the word Lysol or named a specific disinfectant. From the Cambridge Dictionary, a disinfectant is “ a substance that contains chemicals that kill bacteria”. In the most basic sense a bacteria and a virus are fundamentally different. At this point I believe he could say literally anything and you could find some way to defend it.

Maker of Lysol "Please don't drink our cleaning products". I saw the warning. But again, please show us where the President said "Lysol" or named any disinfectant. Here, I will help you out. From NBC, one of the lefts favorite news sources. "Trump did not specify the kind of disinfectant."

From NBC, one of the lefts favorite news sources. "Trump did not specify the kind of disinfectant." This is a terrible hill to die on. I'm sure you know that, but the president openly suggested what amounts to organ damage and serious health complications. Ultraviolet light, injecting disinfectant....I wish I could say it was on par with hydroxychloroquine, but it's sadly worse. Here is some truth though from some people in the know : The U.S. is woefully behind in testing, specifically the antibody tests. We simply don't have enough information on how this virus operates, how long immunity lasts, how many antibodies it takes to get to a range of immunity, etc. This is going to be a slow and tedious process where states like Georgia will pay the price of opening up early. This wave will likely result in 100,000+ deaths.

At this current moment in time, I'm not sure we see college football in the fall or professional baseball in 2020. I think there are still significant hurdles to clear with regards to administering tests, sequestering players, locations and a host of other logistical issues across multiple sports. Patience is going to be needed over the next several months, as there's just so much work to be done. A national response and rollout strategy is lacking at this point, which is a major deficit for those who are looking towards "normal."
