He announced that he will step down after the bowl game and will take on an advisory role with the team.

Looks like he just stepped down at U Washington He is not Christ, his name is Chris. Not sure why he stepped down, but it could be he found it very difficult to maintain winning teams at U Dub and wanted to get out. Being a coach at a P5 school you are under constant pressure to win every year. This year they finished 7-5, and it probably didn't please the alumni & fans too well. He did win over 100 games in coaching and that is good.

You might be right about that, but since HC Hoke already has his OC he is not going to dump him right now just to get Petersen. I kind of doubt that Petersen would be interested in being an assistant again at any college. Doing what Rocky did is highly unusual and unlikely.
