Rocky brought in some recruits for OVs, yes OFFICIAL visits during the season, which is unusual for us. The early signing period means we need to get guys in if they want to decide during the early period. Here’s some visitors from the weekend:
3* S from Temecula, Brody Hughes
3* CB from Cajon HSc Rodney Robinson (his dad posted that)
3* S from Compton, Dupree Williams
3* ATH from Arizona, Micah Harper

Doesn't look like we got any commitments though. Still like bringing guys in early before first signing period. Wonder if they’re trying to keep any commits under the radar to keep attention away attention from bigger schools.

I don't know but as of now our recruiting is ranked 136 in the nation. Impressive!

I hope that's it, because it seems like it's been a LONG time since anyone has committed.

I hope that's it, because it seems like it's been a LONG time since anyone has committed. I am surprised Rocky didn't try this slow-playing the recruiting process sooner. I always felt that a couple of the bigger schools (guess which ones) always were poaching our "committed" recruits. Rockys been at this game for a long time I have faith in him and his staff to have a few kids lined up. I do still have a problem with one or two staff members and how and who they recruit and train at the QB position. That as already been talked about Many Many times. I see 13-15 recruits with graduation and matriculation. Most in the early period. 12-HS6 offense-3 OLine, TE, WR, QB 6 defense-2DB, 2S, 1LB, 1DL 3-Transfers (Grad or "ready made" JC) QB, TE, Tackle *somewhere we need a punter for next year, please don't have Matt Araiza do both he is to valuable a kicker!

We generally have a couple silent commits. No one reports on SDSU Fball recruiting so who knows

article in Thursday UT - Araiza has been working on his punting also this year - he likes the challenge - did both in HS - was a former soccer player but do not want him injured punting .
Big Q what style of QB do we recruit - even have a few on the current roster - bigger Q - what QB would want to come to the Aztecs if the QB is basically a game manager - need to open up the offense if we hope to recruit QB's or WR's that can be a focal part of the offense and have an OC that will call plays that show it

Hopefully we had no visitors on Saturday as that was an absolutely embarrassing offensive display.

I see 3 verbal commits. I know we only have about 15 scholarships to give but the early signing date is a month away. I sure hope that this years recruiting class does not turn to be really weak. Does anyone have a better take on what this situation looks like?

Tony White was a damn good recruiter for us, while he was here.
