The Pokes from Wyoming will be galloping into town next, and I only have one question. How good are they? They have the same record as us at 4-1, and haven't beaten anyone significant except one team. But, that team does raise some eyebrows. The team they beat was from the first game of the season, and it is a team we ourselves have had a poor history against. That team was Missouri. Now, some might say, well, Missouri is not a winning team from the SEC. Not so gringo. The loss to the Cowboys has been their only loss so far this season, and they have a 4-1 record themselves including 1-0 in conference play. I can't tell you how the Pokes were able to beat them 37-31 since I did not see their game. All I know is that they did play up at Laramie (you know 7200 ft.). Maybe, the Tigers from the lowlands ran out of oxygen, and the Boys just ran them into the ground. Also of note, Wyoming is No. 10 in Rush defense this week. We are No.1, so it could be a tough defensive battle between the two schools. Go Aztecs!

I don’t know much about their team this year but the early line is SDSU -4. The line opened around -4 and moved between -3.5 to -5 with the Aztecs as the favorites. As always, I expect a mean, tough fighting Cowboys team on Saturday.
Go Aztecs

You got that right about them being a tough fighting team. Over the years I have gained a lot of respect for Wyoming football teams because it seems that no matter what their record is they always play us with a lot of spirit and tough determination.

Bohl is a hell of a coach. They can't pass and their D is very porous. Sprinkle in the fact we play up and down to the level of competition, given how our D is playing, I actually see a Blowout.

I'm actually excited to see this MWC match-up. Hopefully so will a crowd of 35k+. A MW matchup doesn't get any better than this one.

As we know Wyoming is a tough place to play at 7200 feet and SEC teams have lost there before. I’m shocked that Missouri agreed to play there.

I went on their website to check their passing stats, and you are right! Their QB, Sean Chambers, has completed only 32 out of 83 passes thrown for a horrendous 38.5%, and 3-TD's against 1-INT. I think I could do that and I don't even know how to play QB! They can only rush the ball, and if our "D" gums up their rushing attack they will be in for a very Long night. But, as I said if they play determined they may find a way to give us all we can handle.

Chambers their 6-3 218 lbs. QB is a red shirt freshman . He leads the Cowboys in rushing 381 yards on 54 carries 7.1 yards per carry and 6 TD's . so he is big and strong . He is 38 % on passing with 3 TD's and 1 INT . They have 3 RB's with more then 5 yards per carry . Ranked 14th in the nation in running 250 yards per game . They average 31 points per game compared to our 20
Their Defense : is ranked 10th against the run in the country only 83 yards per game . They are ranked 127 out of 130 schools in Passing yards given up 328 . Will Horton take advantage of their pass defense or force the run .
They are physical on defense get a lot of turn overs and a bunch of sacks( have 2 guys with 3 sacks both DE's - so will need to have solid play by the OL - blitz a lot also do a lot of stunts - They have 6 INT's and caused 6 fumbles. So we will need quick plays by our backs and Wr's Try to put pressure on the other team's offense - sound familiar
They only give up 20 points per game

They're a poor man's SDSU lol I disagree, the Pokes are a storied program with much more success than SDSU before Brady/Rocky showed up. They were always ranked and were the class of our conference (before Boise State and TCU came into the picture). Oldie Out

Well, we will need to spy their talented dual threat QB, like we did against Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills) a few years ago in the MWC Championship Game. Contain his runs from scrimmage while keeping their offense one dimensional.
Typically, our defense will carry the team, having to neutralize their explosive offense (they scored 53 on UNLV).
We will be evenly matched.
Oldie Out

I was talking about this year's Poke squad with a strong D and lousy QB. Granted their rushing game is far better than ours so far. Their strong D is good but not as good as ours and their lousy QB makes Agnew look like a future first round pick.

I think their QBs problem to date is hiss lack of experience. Lets hope he doesn't mature until after Saturday night.

Say what you want about our QB, the kid doesn't make a lot of mistakes (even through our OMG BAD OLINE doesn't give him any support) and Washington is back at 80% or better (which is still better than any RB in our MGC). I don't see this game being close. Special Teams are starting to act "Special." Our D is all that and a bag of chip and our receivers and actually starting to do just that, receive. FINALLY! Aztecs by 2-3 TD's.

The story should be Wyoming's rushing, and SDSU's rushing defense.
Wyoming averages 250 rushing yards per game, 5.7 yards per carry, and almost 3 rushing TDs per game. Averaging 44 rushing attempts per game. Leading rusher Chambers averages 7.1 yards per carry, but three other RBs have at least 200 yards and all average more than 5 yards per carry. Wyoming has 14 rushing TDs on the year. (SDSU has only 4 rushing TDs - oh how I miss the prior four NFL-caliber RBs Penny, Pumphrey, Muema, Hillman.)
SDSU is #1 in the country in rushing defense, giving up 45 yards per game.

We are the closest thing to the Bears they will see. I think we cover the spread .
