I seriously can't believe it's the very first time this has happened in Padres history. I wouldn't be surprised if Renfroe and Reyes end up being at least the new 2nd/3rd place single season home run leaders. Both could easily reach 40 HRs, but catching/passing Vaughn's 50 might be a stretch
Here are the Padres Single Season HR Leaders:
1. Greg Vaughn....50 (1998)
2. Phil Nevin.....41 (2001)
T3. Ken Caminiti....40 (1996) T3. Adrian Gonzalez....40 (2009)
5. Nate Colbert....38 (1970 & 1972)
7. Adrian Gonzalez....36 (2008)
8. Fred McGriff....35 (1992)
T9. Phil Plantier....34 (1993) T9. Dave Winfield....34 (1979)

With Hosmer-Machado-Myers and Tatis in the lineup around them, it will be difficult to pitch around Renfroe and Reyes. All I ask is for Preller to hold off on trading these guys for a few seasons. A nice lineup to take advantage of the new live ball era.

Equally surprised. I would have thought for sure it had happened at least once, i.e. when Caminiti & Vaughn were teammates.
