Yet another top 100 arm for the Padres will be called up to start tomorrow night against the Brewers. 22 years old, fastball/changeup combo. Tough team to break in against, but have to face them all eventually.

I wish the Padres offense could muster sufficient leads so the Padres could use the bottom of the bullpen in some wins so they could sometimes use the top of the bullpen to hold a deficit where it is, making comebacks a little easier.

Lucchesi was a stud tonight. That was fun to watch.

Logan Allen had a dream MLB debut.
7 innings 0 runs 3 hits 2 walks 5 Ks 3 DP 10/3 GB/FB
It is really nice to have a ground ball pitcher on the staff. With our infield defense and MLB scouting Allen should be helped considerably.
At AAA 61/30 GB/FB

I was surprised he got called up, after a 5.15 ERA and 1.43 WHIP down on the farm. I didn't get it.
He sure pitched well last night.

His line was inflated by a couple of bad starts. He had an eight start streak of a 1.91 ERA. Believe it or not, his ERA was top 15 for the PCL. He's incredibly young for the league, too.

Makes sense, I figured it was something like that but I didnt see a game log.
And of course, you have the PCL factor.
Right on! Is he up to stay for now, or only a spot start?

His last 3 starts (2 of which were not at altitude), his ERA was over 8. Frankly, I didn't see this coming. But...he pitched VERY well last night.
