Would be nice to see him pitching in San Diego again and getting the Pads to the WS. I would never want to doom his career by banishing him to the Padres.

I wonder how the 10-day layoff is going to affect him (as well as the other pitchers). They were all at the top of their games these last few weeks… the layoff will not help anyone, hitters or pitchers.

Win or lose, I'm happy for him. It would be really something if he absolutely dominates these next two weeks and we'd have Kawhi and Stras leading the way to world titles in hoops and baseball in the same calendar year.
Mostly, I do hope he will consider bringing back the SS 5K to campus when all of this calms down a bit. That was a really fun event, and I think they had a lot of fundraising success with it, just judging by the amount of people participating.
Edit: If Xander would have broke through on one of the majors... Wow! What a photo op having all three on campus would have been. Perhaps in the next year or two??

Whatever happened to the Undie Run? It was a great recruiting tool.

If the Nationals hang on to win this game does our guy get the win?

Man, the home plate umpire has a cr@p strike zone for Stephen! It's been consistent for both starters. Verlander also had lots of WTF looks to the HP umpire.

Verlander at least got a number of strikes called on pitches outside the 'box'. Stephen was painting the inside of the 'box' and got screwed completely on at least a half dozen pitches.

Solid outing tonight for Stephen in first WS appearance.
Gave his team a chance... and they rewarded him with a big 7th inning.
Thanks for the belated birthday gift (Oct. 21st), Stephen!

This is what you call a beat down. Washington is going to get a ring.

Would be nice to see him pitching in San Diego again and getting the Pads to the WS. I would never want to doom his career by banishing him to the Padres. Not that laughable to think that with a couple of other stellar off-season moves in addition to Stras, the Pads become a post-season team - and as the Nats have proven, you just need to get in.

Actually, everything about the Padres is laughable. Especially today's hire of yet another manager with no head coaching experience.

Laughable because of the extremely low likelihood that the Padres organization would have any ability or chance to pull that off.

That showed me this group is different.

If the Nationals hang on to win this game does our guy get the win? Yes. I always thought a pitcher needed to leave the game in the lead in order to register a win. Wasn't the game tied 2-2 when Strasburg stopped pitching?
