This is from CHe'coach and handler, Dwayne Wise and it sounds like Che' has explored all three methods to get to the NBA.
"When you hit college your clock starts over"...so “There are a lot of different paths to becoming a professional basketball player,” Jonathan Givony, who runs ESPN’s mock draft said. “You can go to the G League, you can play professionally overseas, you can go to college.

This article from SI.com spells out the contracts that were offered to elite HS athletes from the NBA/G-League. I.e: Che Evans offer.
"These contracts are designed for players out of high school and are worth $125,000 for five months of work. Select contracts also offer the player with high-quality health care benefits and access to financial literacy instruction, post-care planning and other practical, basic business lessons."
"Green's Deals with the G League comes with a full scholarship. He could pursue college after his basketball career ends (when he would be older, wiser and presumably more focused on studies than he would at age 18) or enroll at a college that would let him pursue studies part-time, such as by taking courses online or over the summer. College is not a “one-shot” deal in America. People can pursue it at any age."

Funny one of the selling points of the G league is the scholarship offered after playing days or at times when the player is not playing, summer time for example. Pro baseball has been offering this perk for decades. Basketball must have copied, what ever it is a great benefit for those individuals who know that some day they will need a regular job. Playing days are numbered and few players will have the talent and work ethic of say Kawhi and be offered a contract that will financially set them and their families for life.

But it takes two to Tango, so Wise is out their representing his interests too. Honestly, he also coaches (handles) other AAU players as well, inlcuding Che's 6'9 inch freshman cousin.

The diffrence nowis #1 choice Jalen Green recieved $500K to play in the G-League on a barn-storming style team based in LA to play a 20 game schedule, said to play mostly on the road. Which ensures games (outside of CA). Ineterseting enough, there are a few other elites that will follow him.

But it takes two to Tango, so Wise is out their representing his interests too. Honestly, he also coaches (handles) other AAU players as well, inlcuding Che's 6'9 inch freshman cousin. Did he have the same "Handler" when he signed his LOI? The point I am making is that SDSU rarely gets these types of players and now that this new money is involved things are going to get interesting. I will say SDSU is moving up in the pecking order but still not a BlueBlood (yet). The chance of a nice start in a basketball career with a substantial paycheck attached or going to SDSU for a year (or soo) of basketball and class work, you make the call. He is now pawn for other people to use to make money. I really hope he has the right people around him to directed him. The article implied it's around $150,000+ (plus a scholarship later?) nice start but once you subtracted taxes, Handler fees, managers, food, rent, transportation and other miscellaneous things needed there is not that much difference between college and this new league start up. If heaven forbid he were to get injured (re-injured) where is the the rehab coming from? They are not going to care as much as a college at this point, to early on nothing really invested yet in the kid, it will be "Next Man Up!" moving on. Hoping the best for the kid, it just seems to early in for this "NEW SYSTEM" Go to State prove yourself (skills and health) be part of a good/solid upcoming team system and good things will come your way. Stopping here and getting off the soap-box. GO AZTECS!

Not to parse words but the article quotes him as saying they have "explored" (past tense) and not "exploring" all options, meaning they have made their decision and are sticking to SDSU. That is the word at least right now.

Avoided CA taxes by not working in CA. Smart tax guy.

Anytime you see the word "Handler" you know they are not going to pick SDSU! Almost every d1 recruit has a handler and that's the problem, grown men making money off teenager basketball players. This is most often a strictly money driven group of people who do not care about the long term stability of said athlete. They only care about the basketball player today not the person tomorrow.

There is actually nothing wrong with that. Both sides want their money

Kyree Walker skipping college to train for the NBA. Appears to be a real trend this year. I do expect Che' to play at SDSU since he missed 99% of his HS season.

First of all hope we have a season...beyond that hope Che can hold up after not playing the past year. I know he has been working hard and maybe he has really fresh legs.
