would think our coaches would appreciate that he is on limits for minutes played - not being rushed into a lot of game action after his rehab time

Anyone know the minutes played, nice shooting stat line for limited minutes. I talked about this when he signed, but I know a few folks in the DC/Baltimore area and they are 💯 sure that Che is a high major top end talent, he is unlike anyone we have had in a long time... Athletically he is a little smaller version of Billy White and will be able to take folks off the dribble and score at the rim and in transition, he has better handles than Billy did and will be a solid outside shooter as a freshman. His ability to shoot from three will move him from a solid contributor to NBA potential because of his ability to get to the rim, folks are going to want to give him a step and so if he can knock down the three that puts pressure on the defense. He will be a significant contributor next year as long as he can digest and execute the defensive schemes... but I have also been told he has a high basketball IQ, understands the game...

would guess our coaches would prefer he does a conservative rehab rather then rush him into games

I really hope Evans is good ... but these are videos of a guy in practice vs our other commits Butler and Dinwiddie leading their teams to playoff wins. Dinwiddie scores 34 and 30 last week.

Che gets a lot of interest because just 4 years ago he was considered one of the Top 5 players in the 2020 class. At that time he was drawing interest from Kentucky, Duke, Maryland, UCLA and Michigan State. If he hadn't got injured and he continued to grow (at 14 was 6'5) those schools would still have been on him. He's been considered a 2 and done type of player. He's a guy who could average 16-18 points, 6-8 rebounds and 4 assists as a sophomore. All 3 of the guys coming in will add great depth. Dinwiddie could get a lot of playing time early if he can bring some offense off the bench at the guard position. Evans has Schakel, Mitchell, Arop and Johnson in front of him so next season will be a getting back in shape, working on his defense and preparing for his sophomore year IMO.

I get the intrigue, but I also remember very recently we constantly heard stories about players dominating practices, crazy athletic feats while training and amazing dunks during warm ups ... but then underachieve during real games.
A top rated guy 4 years ago, why has he dropped like a rock since ... work ethic, injures, both? Maybe these constant publicity tweets of “hey look what he did in practice today” is evidence he’s improved his work ethic, I hope so ... buts he’s still constantly injured.
I know you have to take chances on recruits because you never know who’s going to pan out, we’ll see. I hope he’s great, or at least pretty good and 8th grade wasn’t the pinnacle of his career.

Agreed, those arm chair dudes who want to see him drop 30, don't know what's going on or how hard this kid is working to get back from a lower leg surgery. Spends as much time if not not than Jordan putting up shots and getting his legs back. Played 10 minutes for the first time in a year went 2-3 from 3 and 2-2 from the line. Listen, we took a chance on Zylan and Malik, however, unlike them I feel he isn't satisfied with being just okay. Che wants to get back to greatness. Malik, didn't put the work in.

This isn’t intrigue, Che is a next level talent... He will get minutes next year and folks will be surprised by how many and how effective he is going to be.
