San Diego zoo blew away all attendance records in 2018. They had 4 million visitors in 2018. SDZ was the top zoo with 3.2 million in recent years. The new exhibit area, Africa Rocks, helped boost the zoo in 2018.

I was at Africa Rocks yesterday. Very nicely done. At the current rate, the zoo will be the only place you will be able to see many of the word's most dynamic and special animals.

Yes, a lot of environments are in stress. I just read how the push for biodiesel is endangering the orangutans via the palm oil farming. But it is really nice to see the bounce back of polar bears and pandas.

Throw in Balboa Park and it was "m.p. or yr's". Does the miniature train still operate? GOT to make a return visit.

I walk the zoo every other day and have a pass that can get someone else in free too. PM me if anyone wants to go.

Which is great for the people living locally. I'm talking more about the occasional tourist that visits. My parents used to belong to the Zoological Society. A great value.

Working as a janitor my senior year in high school I was able to take my girl to that new park called Sea World. No problem. Sadly, I'm just showing my age.

Get on "youtube" and punch in "kgb homegrown zoo song", for some yuks. Actually a pretty cool song from a very different time. The band was "Horsefeathers" and yes, it was one of the contributions to a series KGB albums containing local artists singing about.....well, San Diego.
