Deserves his own thread and mention - Promoted today to the big leagues. Can't wait to see his bat.

I’m equally interested in seeing his defense.

Radio reports say he is scheduled to be in the starting lineup on Thursday.

I think his receiving behind the plate needs work, which isn't a surprise considering he hasn't been a full-time catcher. The arm though is undeniable. True 80 grade cannon. Curious to see how they divide the playing time between him and Hedges going forward.

Overmatched in his Padre debut. I’m sure it will get better.

Overmatched? No. Overaggressive....which is the entire book on him if you read any of the minor league scouting reports. I'd say the whole team was overmatched tonight with all the sloppy play and the inability to lay off offspeed pitches. Andy couldn't even get ejected properly by Angel Hernandez on the non-review. Pretty poor effort all the way around.

Pretty poor effort all the way around. Agree with this. The kid only had 7 walks in 135 PA's at El Paso, yet he still registered a .946 OPS (.582 SLG- Wow!). Patience and seeing alot of pitches are not his forte, but you could argue that could at least be taught some with proper coaching and watching video. It is hard to impossible to teach the raw tools and benefits he does already possess, and I am pretty bullish about his future.

I'm following the box score from work. Monster shots?

The one to right was a down and in fastball and was tanked to right. His bat is just so quick through the zone. Impressive.

I'm following the box score from work. Monster shots? I wouldn’t call them monster shots, he has a nice compact swing. I’m glad he is off to a hot start.

Looking at the other side of this trade: Brad Hand has been exactly what CLE wanted, dominating in the AL. Cimber has been pretty poor, his strikeouts are way, way down and he already has given up more homeruns in CLE than he did in twice the appearances for SD. At this point, I am skeptical the Tribe can use him in key playoff situations, even against righties. www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cimbead01.shtml

I think it's fair to say that the trade worked out for both sides. Hand has been excellent for Cleveland and the Padres have so many bullpen options, he was a replaceable asset.
