Seems like the name of this thread should be updated.

Seems like the name of this thread should be updated. I’m just happy we’re spelling his name correctly. It seems to be a very difficult task on this site. We could sign a Mike Smith and 20% of the posters would spell his name wrong.

Myke Smythe would be a great "get."

Are we still after Boogie Ellis and other 2019 top freshman PGs?

will be interesting to see what PG 's would come here with Malachi playing two years starting in 2019 ? Could affect what Adam S is groomed for also ?

I can understand the frustration. Here's a few links to the WSU message board. In summary the comments are: (1) Flynn is a quality player who played on a very bad team last year, (2) he is a shoot-first PG, (3) his main downside is defense, (4) inconsistent shooter at times, (5) has trouble getting to the line, and (6) WSU basketball is a dumpster fire. washingtonstate.forums.rivals.com/threads/flynn-to-sdsu.14711/washingtonstate.forums.rivals.com/threads/schools-pursuing-malachi-flynn.14558/washingtonstate.forums.rivals.com/threads/flynn-just-tweeted-that-hes-transferring.14482/=== And here's a comparison of last year's stats for Devin Watson and Malachi Flynn. It may not be a fair comparison since WSU was really bad last year, but for the most part the numbers are similar. Shots attempted: Watson 319 Flynn 392 Shooting percentage: Watson From the field 41%. From three 39% (49-126) Flynn From the field 41%. From three 34% (77-228) Assists to turnover: Watson 124 assists to 60 turnovers. Flynn 132 assists to 66 turnovers. Free throws: Watson 95-126, 75% Flynn 88-104, 85% Rebounds: Watson 86 Flynn 106 Thanks for posting this. The numbers are very similar except Devin's are better and he didnt have a great year. I would have thought Flynn would have had better numbers than that. His 3pt % is mediocre but the thing that really stands out is how few times he got to the ft line. I think he was the Cougs go to end-of- game guy and he only shot 104 ft? Remember, we had Kell in that role and Devin still shot 25% more ft than Flynn. I hope he shows more during the games than these numbers show.

Kind of makes you wonder why Wazzu was so pissed that Azundu came down here as a grad xfer. He didn't show much down here at all. They must be really, really bad to get butt hurt whenever they lose a player transferring.

It was the opinion of the author, don't think it was the program itself.

every school's fans believe they got burned if a player does well and then leaves the program . Much easier then blaming the program itself .
So we saw Devin come in last year as a scoring PG . What would be most important assets that you hope Malachi brings to our team for 2019 ?

Seiko? Because he missed most of Nov and Dec due to injuries. And the rotation of Kell, Watson and Hemsley didn't leave many minutes.

Seiko has never been a true PG, not in HS nor will be at SDSU. Like Hemsley he will play combo.

What are the odds that 6'9 200 Arinze Chidom follows in Flynn, X and Izundo's foot steps?
Announced he is playing at UCR, bench player at Wazzu headed to the Big West. Sounds right. Nevada transfer Vince Lee, will also play in the Big West at CSU Fullerton.

Chidom is a Oakland, California, native who played at Bishop O’Dowd High before going to Sunrise Christian Academy Prep in Kansas and then Oakland’s Merritt College, Chidom had played in all eight games this season and was regularly one of the first players off the bench for WSU.

I hope SDSU isn't looking for a bench player from WSU.

I hope SDSU isn't looking for a bench player from WSU. Probably right, we did take on Izundo from the cougs. Otherwise its been X and Flynn.
