I'm not sure what law suits will bring about, except a lot of money spent on probably nothing. Same with St. Louis. (As I recall, St. Louis had no problem welcoming the Rams from Los Angeles and LA brought about no lawsuits, because the departure of the Rams from ORANGE COUNTY pretty much brought
a collective yawn from Angelinos).
Likewise, when the Raiders spent years at the Coliseum in LA, I don't recall Oakland instigating any successful lawsuits. But as always, we shall see.
Moving forward, after an disappointing Aztec loss at Earl Wilson, I finally ended up at South Point and spent some time with "my peeps". One is employed at one of the big boy casinos on the strip and we spent some time pondering the future of the NFL in Las Vegas.
He did bring up an interesting tidbit, that word around town is the Raiders are considering Mesquite, Nevada, (two hours north of Vegas, just south of the Arizona Nevada border), for their training camp. For those of us that like to road trip from SLC to Vegas, that could be fun. But again, as always, we shall see.
During the course of the conversation it was hard not to feel a little saddened that San Diego will probably be working on a name for it's MLS team.
