I support the restoration of the Coho 100%. Is it possible that there would be even more support from more people without the snarky remarks?

Perhaps? You might have a point there, but so far it's hard to see Scott Pruitt sitting around a campfire singing kumbaya with a group of conservationists! I'm keeping an eye open to see if anything good or positive happens soon. Stay well!

Hey if there is a mineral mine, or potential for fracking, next to this tributary, it gets pushed in a heartbeat by this administration. These guys (especially Trump and Bannon) have no caring or connection to the environment. To them it's just a way to make money and gain power. Their goal is to generate enough cash to put in people's wallets, that it will act as crack..and the public will look the other way as they burn things down. Of course this is unsustainable and will crash. The long term effects would be devastating. Teddy Roosevelt (a real man) felt a connection to the environment and knew the importance to our sustainability. He is rolling in his grave. I know of not one (and I know a few of the most renowned and famous) environmental professionals, filmmakers and scientists agree that these guys are the biggest threat to the environment since the dirty 60's. Anyone who grew up in those times knows the advancements we have made. Win, I think you mean well.. but you are sadly wrong on this issue.

Is it where I support the restoration of the Coho? Is it where I think stopping snarky remarks might be positive? As a matter of fact, just where is your evidence for what you think are the positions of Trump and Bannon? Trump has only been in office 60 days or so. My guess is that you will not listen to reason on these issues when the idea that a point is reached where there are diminishing returns on taking measures that take great effort and resources but accomplish little or nothing.

Win, I do not question your sincerity regarding the coho. Guys like Fishey and I who have been in the field for most of our adult lives can see these guys coming from a mile away. On a smaller scale, I have seen this movie a 100 time. This is an all out blitz against all constraints to development with zero concern for the natural world. For example, the attacks against NOAA are to get their satellites out of the air so they can't collect data...less information helps their exploitation. I depend on noaa bouy data, for example, to keep me out of danger on the high seas. These guys could give a f x x x .

Don't you also think it would be good to get your facts straight before panic sets in? Haha...about the same level of panic you guys had for Obama taking your guns away.... I can see who has been placed in charge of the various agencies. These people cannot be trusted to do the right thing for 1 second.

Trumpolini said he was cutting back on satellite budgets since (in his mind) there was redundancy with NASA and NOAA satellites! That is all!

That is real harm and not hyped up rhetoric with no basis.

Trumpolini said he was cutting back on satellite budgets since (in his mind) there was redundancy with NASA and NOAA satellites! That is all! Well, that opinion, on the face of it, does not seem to me to be ridiculous. It may or may not be unwise. I'm not equipped to make a judgement on that question. But let's not fall into the trap of " If Trump says it, it is further evidence that he is the second coming of Adolf Hitler." Anyone who has paid attention knows that I am extremely .....EXTREMELY! ..... critical of President Donald J. Trump. Nevertheless, the negative wave aimed at the Prez is so unhinged that it makes even me cringe. (That's not aimed at you; compared to Maxine Waters, the NYTimes, etc., you are a model of even handedness.) Trump will be President for nearly four more years. Better to engage him in an effort to steer him toward more positive policies than constantly calling him the devil's spawn. Again, not aimed at you particularly. AzWm

Fishin'Aztec and UWaztec are two of the more level headed members of the left. I am also not that big of a Trumpster but am quick to come to his defense and the defense of the pretty impressive team he has assembled to help him this next four years. A for instance is the feeble bill forwarded to replace ObamaKare. It just did not go far enough nor did it address all the right things.

Well, I have always had an issue with statements that go beyond tha bounds of reason. Frankly, Bush Derangement Syndrome and now Trump Derangement Syndrome seem to me to have been AT LEAST as crazy as the over-the-top attacks on Obama. AzWm
