The “Kilkenny Floor” text listed above the Matt Arena logo, is accompanied by three additional graphics. “We wanted to pay respect to Pat Kilkenny, and the Kilkenny family, by telling their story in a classy and subdued series of three symbolic graphics,” Hatfield said. Graphic 1 (left side) depicts Morrow County and Heppner, Ore., where Pat Kilkenny grew up. Graphic 2, which symbolizes his education at UO, is the 1970’s interlocking UO logo adorned with three shamrocks representative of his very green and very Irish heritage. Graphic 3 symbolizes the beach and sunset of San Diego, where he became a highly successful entrepreneur and still resides today. Kilkenny, another wealthy athletic booster, has neither a college degree nor any germane experience. Kilkenny attended but did not graduate from the University of Oregon, leaving the school several hours short of completion. The former chairman and chief executive officer of the San Diego-based Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, he grew his business into a nationwide organization with written premiums of nearly $1 billion when he sold the company in 2006.

Does Pitino get a floor with a "restaurant table top" theme and the word "TACKY"??

It is so fitting for Oregon. This is the team with the ugliest football uniforms of all time.

Just as an FYI, Oregon's next game, against USC on Thursday 1/13, will be the first game at the new Knight Arena.

The new arena looks so bland and uninteresting. McArthur Court is one of the most awesome looking college basketball venues of all time.

My wife and daughter went to the U of O vs UW womens game there today. They are not arena afficianados but they did say, "from the outside it looked as big as Staples Center!"

Been a bartender for about ten years now. Heard a lot of opinions. I will tell u that when the USC-OREGON game came on I heard more people , in 3 minutes, talking about the floor than I have, in 3 months, about the #6 Aztecs. It may be ugly but it's worth some tv time. They even showed the entire halftime ceremony without commercial interuption. Brutal to see such a terrible team get so much time when I am lucky to catch the occasional Aztec game.

I am sure that when the Aztecs play in this year's national championship game, that CBS will opt to replay the Georgetown loss to Villanova game from 1995... RRR mAd hAM

in the future it will be an advantage for the Ducks as the players can tell by the colors and spots etc where they are on the court. BUT, it is the most hideous thing I have ever seen.
