The “Kilkenny Floor” text listed above the Matt Arena logo, is accompanied by three additional graphics.
“We wanted to pay respect to Pat Kilkenny, and the Kilkenny family, by telling their story in a classy and subdued series of three symbolic graphics,” Hatfield said.
Graphic 1 (left side) depicts Morrow County and Heppner, Ore., where Pat Kilkenny grew up. Graphic 2, which symbolizes his education at UO, is the 1970’s interlocking UO logo adorned with three shamrocks representative of his very green and very Irish heritage. Graphic 3 symbolizes the beach and sunset of San Diego, where he became a highly successful entrepreneur and still resides today.

From a Nike hater: I like that court design. Well done and represents the Northwest well.

What are the symbols underneath the O ? Not symbols but letters for "Matt" who was Phil Knight's son who died at an early age!

It's officially called the Matthew Kinght Arena, but I still don't see how that is an M? It's supposedly going to be the most expensive college arena in the US, but only seats 12,500. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Knight_Arena

What are the symbols underneath the O ? Hieroglyphics - roughly translates to: paid for through sweat shop labor

only 12,500 means they can't have a tourney game there. If your going to spend 200 mil might as well make it 16000 to hold some tourney games every year.

Viejas Arena has a capacity of 12,414 and has held the first and second rounds for the NCAAs? But we also spent $29 million on our facility, I'm not exactly sure what they are getting for another $171 million dollars?

It should have been larger considering Knights $$ and his ability to buy coaches and "recruit" players. I'm surprised that when they fired Ernie Kent they didn't just go out and buy a basketball coaching staff & start over like they recently did with baseball!

It seemed like all the 1st round teams had a good time in SD, well maybe not the losers?

Seriously though, we build a very nice 12,500 capacity arena for $29 million and Oregon spends $200 million on a 12,500 arena? What else are they getting that would justify such a higher cost? Sounds like they are geting a raw deal to me. FYI, here are some actual pics, you can barely see the men's 3FG line?

I believe there was a link that said all future 1st and 2nd round games must be held in a arena with 16k+ I just tried searching for the link but couldn't find it. It makes sense as we have not held a MENS tourney since.
As for Oregons court pretty sweet however you can't see the mens 3 point line that great. Maybe they should look into making it light green, needs to be more visible.
