Remember that old saying, "A man's home is his castle"? As well as anything, that expresses the American ethic; namely, that private property, no matter how humble, should be his . . .or hers . . . to do with as he sees fit. (Yes, I know; there are limits, logical ones, such as not being allowed to butcher hogs on the front lawn of your Brentwood mansion!) Well, don't count on that being true anymore. Especially after the odious Kelo decision by the Supreme Court in 2005. Now government can take your property for just about any flimsy reason it dreams up, the most notorious one being taking perfectly good property from one private citizen with which to enrich another private citizen.
