That is one big kid! Gonna need to work on his foot work/speed. Give him to Coach Schmidt for a few years...

For a 17 year old kid, he is huge. He will redshirt as they home him. Look to weights to toughen him up, learning the system next year. The good news is that we have the luxury to redshirt him as we have a stable of big OL's. Nice place to be.

Looks like he is mean enough and big enough to be a DT/nose guard instead of an O-lineman. Several of our current O-linemen go 6'-5" and bigger...
...but hey...I'll go with whatever Rocky and company have in mind...coaches always know best

He is tough taskmaster and does not accept anything less the very good execution of the fundamentals. Balance is a big deal with him. These guys now are mostly 6-5 to 6-7 and 300 is the smallest of the starters. Fall camp should be fun with a new crop of roadgraders.

It seems that almost all the OL we recruit are guys that red shirt their first season as coach Hall and OL coach try to get them into college shape . Seems true for most G5 OL recruits . Some of the top P5 OL recruits are able to make the transition . Difference between P5 and G5 , when you are able to get 5 star guys .
Nick Hardwick , former Charger OL , was saying that when you get the very big OL, they maybe able to make quick block at the line , use their strength and need to over power the opponent , But they may not have the quick feet to adjust to outside or inside rush or be able to move or get in correct position to make block toward the outside . Have to do "zone block " Also need quick hands on their blocks ? Will ask opinion of those here that may know more about the subjects .
