Lobos vs Shockers, just another school to beat up on UNM. However, the MW would have 2 top 25 RPI schools. Wichita State and who else?

The football angle isn't realistic right now; adding solely for hoops isn't happening, period. As Thompson rightfully said.

Does adding Wichita make the MW a greater conference as a whole? No. Probably losing a Wyoming or SJSU would do more good for the conference than adding Wichita.

What the F X X X is Hair thinking? Wichita State is the perfect addition. They immediately raise our profile as a basketball conference. In case you don't read well , or missed it. They said Wichita State dropped Football in 1986! So, how long would it take them to get back into the swing of things in football? TOO long! Besides, who wants to go to Kansas in November, or December to watch a football game? Too far out of the region. We don't need them at all!!!!!!!!

The same people who want to go to Laramie or Logan in November or December? If we could swap WSU for SJSU I'm all for it. Since that won't happen best to just leave things in the current terrible state.

Well we will see thei initial proposal in the next 30 - 45 days. They need $50MM in start up costs for football, but MW basketball would reap the benefits. Personally I would favor WSU over Hawai'i

It's much easier for teams to get into Wichita then Laramie, fly to Denver and bus 3 hours into Wyoming. And by the way Temple, Charlotte and UTSA got D1 football up and running in less then 4 years.

It's much easier for teams to get into Wichita then Laramie, fly to Denver and bus 3 hours into Wyoming. And by the way Temple, Charlotte and UTSA got D1 football up and running in less then 4 years. ?? Temple's had a D1 football program for many decades.
Charlotte took 6 years to get their program even launched (approved 2007, 1st season 2013), and played FCS for 2 years before jumping to FBS just this past year, and they stink.
UTSA started seeking funding for their program in 2008/2009 & didn't start playing until 2011. They had 2 good years at the FBS level, & now are among the worst programs nationally.
If Wichita wants to start the process to field a football team, great. Do so. Start at the FCS level like the others. If they want to join the MWC they can apply in 2018 or 2019 or so, and join in 2020 if they're lucky. By then the entire landscape of college football will most likely change anyway.
It makes no sense to include them right now.

First of all I can't imagine why WSU would choose the MWC. That's enough of a reason for me to not like it. Hair is doing them a favor.
