Cool, hope he goes to Fresno. But if you are inferring that SDSU should have interest it makes no sense for a 5 star PG to come here to play off the ball. Hemsley has proven himself as a PG, and Kell isn't going to bench, so hypothetically we would go small if he would even start. This is why it really makes no sense for SDSU to even pursue top PG prospect like him for this years recruiting class.

We are recruiting three highly touted PGs in 2017: Markus Howard (NV) Christian Popoola (UT) and Jade Smith (NOR CA). And were looking at Jaylan Hands, as well before his UCLA commitment.

Except isn't this kid class of 2016 vs. 2017? 2017 would make more sense - 2 years overlap with JH & only 1 with Kell. Time to learn/grow.
You can never have enough talent, but seems like with 3 more with JH & 2 with Kell at the 1-2 ihe may not be a great fit.
Adding for 2016 is about size; adding for 2017 is about anyone & everyone - best talent.

I balance the "stars" with offers/interest. A true 5* will have a very different cast of characters in pursuit. Case in point, Winston Shepard. 4* or 5*, his choice came down to SDSU and New Mexico. Without UCLA/AZ/UK/KU level programs in the mix, he was more likely an inflated 3*.

Jade Smith isn't very highly touted. 2016 and 2017 change timetables very much and it would be ideal to land a PG in 2017 that understands he is coming off the bench for 2 years. I have seen nothing to suggest we are recruiting Howard for a long time, and have barely have seen a mention of pop.

His choices came down to UNM and SDSU cause he valued the schools that recruited him hard from the beginning he had many other offers. As for this kid, he's definitely a stud and a 5 star, odds are he's not going to fresno.

As often as guys say they went with the school that "recruited them from the beginning", very few, and certainly not a self-proclaimed 1 and done like WS thought he was, tab SDSU and UNM if AZ/UNC/UK etc. are calling.

Sure they do if they trust the coaches more or think they'll be showcased more. Look at Zimmerman, Rabb, Brown and many others as examples. Not everyone recruited by bluebloods end up there.

Not a lot of stars, buts still a top 150 player. Offers have been out to Howard and Poppola. Howard won't consider us. Pop, perhaps but his dad played at UNLV and will push home to P5 schools.

I'm not saying he'd still be at SDSU if those bluebloods offered but he had high major offers and clearly did value who offered him first, quite a few recruits do. Also I'm glad you think you can read winston's mind, love the subtle insults thrown his way. You shouldn't be ranking recruits based just on offers, that would be incredibly stupid, but keep at it.

5-star Aussie guard visited ASU, Texas A & M and Fresno State. From Scout.com today - "just visited You also visited Fresno State, how was that?
My brother is committed there so my family is really close with them. It was really good. All of the visits felt comfortable."
He will be playing in the Nike Hoop Summit and matched up with De'Aaron Fox.
