Lets play the who do we want game for the 1 vs 8 game. Sure SDSU could collapse, but the odds of that plus UNM or Boise winning out are very slim. I don't want AFA or SJSU, yes it would slightly help our chances of winning the MWC tourney but both have improved as season has gone on and are RPI dregs. Don't want UNLV at there semi-home place, it's not that I'm scared of them, it's just it would be a harder than usual 1 vs 8 matchup for a team that is on the bubble. UNM/Boise/Fresno are not going to be possible barring collapses. This trims it down to Nevada/Wyoming/Colorado State/Utah State, looking at Nevada's upcoming schedule and how they have played I will eliminate them from contention. Utah State/CSU/Wyoming are in similar places in kenpom, I will say CSU has played us close recently for whatever reason, Eustachy seems to always scare us though we do often come out on top so lets eliminate them. Wyoming has improved as season has gone I think ultimately Utah State is the ideal matchup, They haven't beat anyone of note away from home, they aren't a total RPI dreg, they don't draw fouls, they are a mediocre rebounding team, and we handled them easily in our place. Assuming we're the #1 seed (not taking ANYTHING for granted until our 14/15th win), I'd agree the #1 choice would be USU, even after their win last night. Believe we just matchup well against them.
I'm not too worried about the RPI angle - at that stage a win is more important. But after our prior game I wouldn't want SJSU, not due to their RPI but due to them having a few more weapons than USU or AF. Don't want CSU either - too unconventional and dangerous in a tourney like that, and a little deeper. Nevada's a team I can see peaking at tourney time. UNLV scares me a lot less w/o Carter & with (if applicable) Zimmerman just coming back. Plus, playing them at noon isn't the same as playing them in the evening. I was at their afternoon tourney game last year - it was quiet.
Playing the WDWW game, agree #1 is USU, I'd go #2 AF (if they finished 8th/9th it means they won a few), and #3 maybe Wyoming even with Adams (but reserve the right to change that in 2 weeks after we play them again).
The question who would you rather have in the semi's - BSU, NM, FSU, UNR or CSU? If FSU continues with injury issues, UNR or CSU could easily move into 4th, and given NM's & BSU's slides of late they could fall.
The next 2 weeks will be VERY interesting.

twobits nailed . Nationally MW is seen as the 12th best conference . So winning it is great to get another banner but unless we do win it with a very good record - only a road loss or two , will not mean much for MM. So every game matters and every team is trying to beat us to get noticed for positioning for MW T, NIT bids or pride they beat SDSU , streaks ....
We have had close games with numerous teams . Not really beaten that many teams soundly. So not many easy games. BSU could beat us at home as they did one year , if they get hot . Lobos want pay back . UNLV if they get healthy ? Right now mad scramble for 2- 8 . As mentioned games likely against 8 , 4 , 2 .

They still have to win at least tomorrow and Saturday to clinch. I don't think so. Four game lead with four games to go means a co-championship is the worst that they can do.

We need to win one more game in conference before we have the out right tittle. In the after game interview WSIII said they don't want to share the tittle with anyone and want to win this thing going away. Meaning no more losses in conference, plus win the tournament.

Now that we've won, won, it begs the question:
Do we cut down nets after we beat Boise St. next Saturday? Or do we wait until the final home game after we beat UNLV?

I want to cut down nets in WYOMING Agreed. But I'll settle for after the Boise State game, when I'll actually be in attendance.

The team has business to conduct. No net cutting until Senior Night, preferably after a win over UNLV.
