The deal is done in LA. Spanos will not be a partner and will not share in the capital costs. His rent will be $1 per year. Value would go up just through tickets, marketing etc. Not too mention that after he gets to LA he can always play out the lease and then move to his own place in Carson or wherever. As for SD, his value may go up with a new stadium, but not like SF, plus the Spanos' will have some of their own money in the project extending the amount of time to payback. Plus the Raiders in LA along with the Rams. Wow! There are a lot of folks in LA right now that would love to have the Raiders back. The two combined would own Southern California. Sorry, and I may be wrong, but I just don't see it. After the emotions have settled Dean will make the best long term decision for his family even if that is with Kroenke. I hope I am wrong. The Rams and Raiders were in Southern California along with the Chargers for many years and it worked out fine. This was the "megamarket" BS all started by Carmen Policy trying to push the Carson agenda and it got shot down quickly by the NFL since they're all distinct markets. The NFL won't allow a second stadium in LA and therefore Spanos will never have a stadium in LA. Spanos needs a long term stadium solution and the only location right now where that is possible is San Diego. Becoming a tenant in LA doesn't solve that at all. If everything falls apart, he'll go to LA, but that's the last thing he wants now. Everything changed when he lost the vote in Houston last month. Hardly. The Raiders had maybe 3-4 sellouts per year and the Rams did a little better than that only because they played in a baseball stadium disguised as a multipurpose venue. And during the 13 years the three were in SoCal together, how successful were any of them in getting a stadium built despite the fact all wanted to do so? Oops, I forgot. San Diegans whored themselves out to the Spanoi by paying to expand Qualcomm to host Super Bowls (and just how many were ever played there?) and then when the Chargers couldn't sell out either, San Diegans whored themselves out on a ticket guarantee.

To me it's fairly obvious which "reporters" out there are being fed info by Fabiani because they've all been wrong with just about everything. (Vinny B, Cole, Acee, Sileo) If that's not the case, then they either have even worse sources or are just making crap up. Either way, they've demonstrated zero credibility. Do you trust anyone that has reported on this issue or all they all just Fabianis puppets in your eyes? Sam Farmer and Scott Lewis are two who are actually doing reporting on this and trying to present facts and not just voicing their opinions or straight up depending on Fabiani for information. Scott Kaplan is not a real reporter but he's been very invested in all of this and has been digging for all the information that he can get with all sorts of people. He talks with Fabiani quite a bit but he is different because he admittedly doesn't buy into the majority of it (and rightly so) but has actually out-reported these so called reporters with information from sources who are not Fabiani. He's very opinionated but then again, he's not a reporter but a talk show host so he supposed to be and he's actually been more right than Cole, Acee, Vinny B, etc.

How bout you just give us the Reader's Digest version so we're not compelled to read the internet version of Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. Sure. My take is that Spanos feels betrayed by all of his buddies, hates Kroenke's guts, and will do anything to not be his tenant.

San Diegans didn't. Susan Golding proposed it and it was the stupidest thing ever.

Which is why it makes considerable sense he would rent from the guy while working to get his own stadium built somewhere like the City of Industry. Is that idea dead? Maybe but maybe not: www.losangelesfootballstadium.com/

Maybe but maybe not: www.losangelesfootballstadium.com/The NFL said that they will not allow two stadiums in LA, plus it's obvious from that article that the other owners do not think he has the vision to build a stadium fitting for a city like LA. Spanos would have to go rogue and he ain't doing that. But more importantly, he doesn't have the money to do a stadium alone. That's why he initially tried to partner with Kroenke, then had to partner with the Raiders.

Acee has been first a few times and he's failed to be right most of those times. Same for the guy who now lives in Boise who use to be the Aztecs beat writer for the North CountyTimes. He's on facebook writing about the Chargers and various stories and he too has been wrong. 1st isn't always the best.
