My guess is that Fresno will just happen to have an off shooting night, lose their concentration for some reason and have more turn overs than usual, be plagued with strange bounces from their missed shots that somehow always end up in Aztec hands and lose by a comfortable margin.
The Aztecs will win. I (always) believe ...

You should be more worried about Wyoming and the Pit. I always worry about playing in Laramie. We seem to play poorly there compared to everywhere else

I think this will be yet another tough game that is close at the end and for SDSU's tournament chances, they really need to win this one. Right now SDSU is still outside the 'bubble' but a win tomorrow night and expected wins at home to AF and - after a bye - at San Jose St, SDSU will finally be considered an at-large candidate. At that point SDSU would have two things really working in their favor - true road record (8-1) and having won 14 in a row.
The game at Fresno tomorrow really could go a long way towards securing an at-large spot if we don't win the MW tournament.

MW is a very competitive , any night any one can beat any team . So we better come prepared to play . We are #1 and so very easy for every team to give us their best game , especially at home .
MW games do nothing to solidify an at large bid . In basic since no one is rated these games only can hurt us if we lose a game . The thought of a great record with two or less losses , at the end of the season may help , but all depends on the other teams being considered . So we do need to win as many games as possible in MW to improve our over all record and try to show how we are trending .

I'm trying really hard not to get too excited about Fresno State missing BOTH of their big men tomorrow night. According to Ziegler, Torren Jones and Karachi Edo have been declared out of Wednesday's game. Of course, they could come at us with 4 guards and shoot the lights out with 3's but as long as we keep going inside and quick jacking up 3's ourselves, we should be ok. We'll have such a ridiculous height and power advantage, hope we use it.

Let's flashback to a couple of years ago when we played at Fresno State shall we:

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind... Mark it down...the Aztecs will beat Fresno State on Wednesday and extend their conference record to 13-0.
The Aztecs are a different team than the one that that beat Fresno 3 weeks ago... I dunno what happened... - Spencer has been playing like every game is his last...doing so much more than trying to block shots...he's pulling down hard rebounds and going to the rim with authority.
- Shriggley is back...if nothing else than to play defense and provide some on-the-court leadership...and when he finally dials in his shot...WATCH OUT!!
- Pope has regained a lot of confidence that he seemed to have lost in the OOC schedule. He doesn't seem lost on defense and is in the game at crunch time
- Cheatham is learning to play defense without fouling and crashing the boards like no other...it's February...and he has grown from being a freshman and into a beast
- Chol seems to have figured out his "hands-of-stone" creating the inside post presence that we all hoped he would show us when he transferred from Arizona
- Shepard has stepped up to say this "this is my team"...I'm going to do whatever I can to lead this team to victory...be it score, play nose-to-nose defense, assist or rebound
- Kell continues to slash into the lane opening up guys on the perimeter or down low when the double comes out to cover him...
- Hemsley...what more can I say about the MWC player of the week
- Allen has hit some clutch shots in the past couple of weeks after being nearly invisible for a month or two...never loses his man on defense
The Aztecs will NOT let Fresno back into the game like they did at Viejas...they will squeeze them like a python squeezes the life out of a rabbit... Really well said Jimmy. I think this is a smart, solid take on how optimists AND some realists are seeing this team right now. It's weird to say after our OOC, but we COULD potentially be very very good this year by the time it is said and done. There are a lot of IFs but we are getting good shots and the team looks better every game. Still has the most upside of any team in the nation.

It's an equalizer in many senses and it's really too much of a factor in games. Kawhi was vomiting from altitude sickness in this game. Not to mention the bus ride the team has had in the past. Hopefully a charter into Laramie happens again.

They're without a couple of key players tonight. Losing PF Jones is huge.
We should take this.

we could barely beat them (in OT) at Viejas we also lost to them last year. I smell a trap game. ah well, as predicted, sdsu will end up being 16-2 (the two toughest games will be @ fresno st and @new Mexico) Dude it's all your fault

Other than its just one game and it was over due....I'm at a loss , we had the game in hand to win it with one shot and all we could come up with was Kell forcing an off balance shot up the heavily defended middle. No ball screens?.... Pope should have been under the basket to help Cheatham. Kind of baffled Pope wasn't in for the last 5 minutes actually, he's been money the last few games, WS stunk up his last few shots. Scary Fresno was without 2 big starters on top of everything else. Doesn't look good come tournament time even if we do finish first in the regular season. We might not get a bid If we can't win out Boise, Wyoming , New Mexico to finish and lose in the tournament. We've got to win all remaining games just to redeem ourselves or win the tournament. Well at least it will be a wild ride sitting on the edge of our seats. Were not going to get run off court, they'll be close.

One of the lousiest shooting teams I can remember. Wish we could land a shooter like Jimmer just once.
