Been wondering about this since Fisher commented in that one article that at least one of the kids we really wanted had SDSU as #1, according to his coach, and switched at last minute because of the Parrish article, and likely because (as noted in the article) the others schools recruiting him were saying they were pretty sure the Parrish article was accurate and there was going to be a big problem. Would at least that kid reconsider? Would any other kids or their parents feel they were misled by the coaches they chose to go with?
I think that event if you sign an NLI you have until like June to late switch the NLI to someone else, as happened to us with that guy Kevin Young a few years ago who late switched to Kansas. Does anyone know?

The Kevin Young deal was different. My recollection is that he was enrolled in school at State but never signed a NLI so his case is different.

Once a kid signs... that's pretty much it. Short of a coaching change or other extenuating circumstances they're set. Anyone who *verballed* elsewhere could easily change their mind and come back to SDSU.

Does anyone know? Yes they can change. Verbal is nothing. Signature is more complex and requires a release by the school (which doesn't happen easily.) I wish I could say "hope TJ Leaf changes his mind" but the way our offense has been playing it's no surprise we have very little in the way of recruit attention.

Who knows if, for example, Cage would re-consider. Probably just (very) wishful thinking.

Correct NLI is a binding contract ,unless the school agrees to let a recruit go else where . i.e. BJ . As stated Young was a transfer that had not signed NLI .
Most schools who we lost recruits to, just repeated what Parrish put out there , so there was no deception on the schools part . Will be basically same as it is for most recruits if they are happy with PT ,they stay , if not they look for another school to transfer to .

Yea, I believe Cage was the one Fisher was alluding to (his coach was sure he would have come although the kid said otherwise). I can't see him seeking a release unless Altman gets hired away or the assistant he connected with gets a HC gig. But my understanding is he was enamored with their facilities, not necessarily a coach. One other thing that might sway a Cage is if Altman goes after his patented senior grads when he had told Cage he wouldn't. In other words, if Cage was lied to. Don't see it happening. Oregon is in a good place right now so can't see anyone wanting out. I'd hoped Dawkins would get canned after a bad year, possibly opening the door for Stanback. Not happening now unless they collapse. Can't see Alford or USC's coach going anywhere either.

"Please oh please reconsider."
Maybe on a transfer bounce back, but for now no thanks.

would love to get a bounce back for 2015 like Barefield SMU or Simon from Zona, Kone or Cage would be nice for 2016.

Not saying this will happen, but there are a couple of things that can happen regardless of the NLI. 1. Enroll at a JC, NLI would be null and void and player can sign with anyone for next year. 2. Enroll anywhere you want and pay your way. The prior school does not have to release you, but that only counts for one year. This only applies if you have not enrolled and begun classes at the NLI school. Again, I don't see any of the guys we wanted that signed NLIs other places to use one of these.

All depends on PT . If the guys get it then doubt they leave . Leaf most likely one and done - do you think he would sit a transfer season - No . Stanback thought degree at Stanford was key for him ?. Cage loved the Ducks atmosphere , what competition does he have for big men up there ?. Kone , is he at OSU or WSU , does he get PT ?. Guys at USC , will they get the PT ,? not sure as USC has been doing very well and adds transfer Aaron next year .So that could be an option if they have overload at the guard position . this would be sitting the 2017 transfer season and then playing 2018 season?

Don't think Jalen Hands signed his NLI yet? UCLA is loaded with 5 stars and guards. I expect the Bruins should win it all in the near future. Alford coaching at UCLA has hurt us

Do not think a 2017 recruit can officially sign NLI until November of 2016 . Numerous schools in the PAC are doing very well in recruiting , OOC and get into MM . MW has been having problems with recruiting top HS talent , OOC wins and MM wins .

Wonder if we have a shot at any of the UNLV players or recruits now that Rice is out? I assume Zimmermann is one and done..
