Well its silly time now. Per Rivals we have 19 commits so we have 6 or so slots to fill. However the recent coaching changes do put players in play like ISU new coach and who does he keep as commits or releases? Grant Hermanns, OL, from Rancho Rio was an ISU commits. He is back in the pool. We had offered and it is Rocky's old hunting grounds. Are we back in play, if so, who do we slow down recruiting.
As coaches and players move around, do we lose a commit or two? Fun time.
Looking at the raw numbers of the commits we continue to get mountain size OL, the WR's are bigger, DB's are taller and the lone RB is under 6 feet as usual.
I would say that we are getting bigger and that wins games in the long run.
As I said fun time of the year.

Commitments are starting to roll in . JC's and HS's are winding down . guys are visiting. Think we are getting at least 3 guys from this past weekend . Key areas OL and DL . Sure helps to be playing in a Bowl game - Hawaii sounds much better then not playing in a Bowl . Guys come in and see the practices , see the guys excited after winning MW Title and then another Bowl . Great part of the Bowl Spin , helps recruiting and even prep for 2016 team.

Rocky mentioned that he's seeing 100's not dozens of potential recruits (with their families) visiting on the sidelines. It's a sign of progress. Recruits who were spurned by the P5 conferences really want to play for a quality, winning program in SoCal.

Playing in Hawaii looks a little bit better to most recruits than playing in the Potato & Nose Pickers Bowl.

Dead period started today (hence the flurry of activity) - no visits, but a phone call and/or text with pictures of Hawaii can't hurt!

Oldie Out True, although at this point in the process I doubt anyone who's truly considering us is influenced by marketing. More so straight up phone calls and/or direct texts from their position coach &/or primary recruiter.
Have to think a call on the 19th or 23rd from Hawaii will carry a lot more weight than what anyone else within our conference will be able to do. Boise coaches can call & say "look at us...we're in San Diego..." (oops), and can you imagine what USU's coaches will be texting from Boise?

Good points,Hawaii does have a selling point. If we have 24 scholarships I would like to see 26 or 27 on the board including the 4 star transfers that we need. There are always problems as we know as far as players leaving, dismissed etc.We need a full roster to keep the momentum going here.

Without a doubt, especially given what P5's can provide these days. If a WSU loses 3-4 at the last minute to the USC's, Oregon's or Nebraska's of the world (believe they lost 6 or 7 over the last week in 2015), they can now reach down & snatch guys from the BSU's & SDSU's on signing day. Didn't used to be that way.
January's going to be a key month for us; hopefully the Hawaii phone calls can trigger a few final additions. Have no doubt we'll have a few flips (who doesn't?), but we could also add a couple late like Tezino who may decide against the P5's.
We should also know about Max Smith within a couple weeks. If he's denied or decides not to come back on his own, my understanding is we may add another HS QB. If he comes back, then probably not.

Winning MW title and undefeated in Conference play helped the Aztecs recruiting wise . Team also got an extra week of practice and guys could come visit . Winning sure helps . Then we get another couple of weeks to prep for Hawaii Bowl - another plus for the recruiting and prep for next year . As it happens Hawaii Bowl does sit very well with recruits , even though fans felt we got screwed and the weakness of MW . So we are in as good a position as can be expected . Does beat going to Potato , ABQ Bowl , ... Bowls are more show then major substance .
January a lot of moving parts . As always the better P5 schools get the vast majority of 5 and 4 star recruits go to the higher ranked schools . Then we battle for the 3 star with the lower PAC /P5. May pick up a 4 if something does not work . Battle other MW schools for the 3 and 2 star . Or get lucky on some one .
QB , no one knows about Max yet , guess JR will leave . If both are gone do we bring in another transfer ? Chapman and Agnew should be back , plus the local recruit at QB . Variety of ways it can go .
