Not one 4/5 star recruit to date. Seems odd to me. Hopefully this changes quickly!

These things take time. Let's talk about the 4/5 star kids in 2019 after three 10 win seasons in a row.

Almost all 5 star are going to P5 schools . Would you guess 90/95% of 4 star are also.

Only way we are going to get 4 or 5 star players if we are ranked in the Top 25...
10 win seasons with only 15-20k fans going to the game hurts our recruiting...
Top 25 with over 40k fans at each game needs to happen in order to start attracting better recruits

We still might get a 4 star this year -- we did last year (actually 2, but one didn't make it).
5 star -- highly unlikely.
Our coaches have done a fine job evaluating talent and finding no star, 2 star and 3 star recruits who turn into very good football players. Hopefully we'll get a lot of those guys.
Go Aztecs!

5 stars aren't committing here unless they're the son of one of our coaches or live in SD and need to stay close to momma. Not happening. They'll always go P5.
4 stars typically only commit to G5s late in the process, usually after a P5 cools on them. Nobody In Our conference has any 4 stars; very few G5s do.
Not worried.

It would be nice to get more high end 3 star players. There is a huge difference between the top end 3 star player and the bottom end. Rivals has 3 ratings for 3 star players - 5.5, 5.6, and 5.7. The four 3-star players they have listed for us are three 5.5 players and one 5.6 player. Last year, all of our 3-star players were 5.5 except one 5.6 player. I would be very happy with some 5.7 type players. Colorado State has two 5.7 and two 5.6 players listed, after only getting three 5.5 players last season.

As we pointed out , no way are we (or most G5 schools) getting a solid 5 star . 4 star going to a G5 maybe a few in special situations . thought the freshman QB at BSU this year was considered 4 star ?
Even the SDSU MBB can not get 5 star recruits and had trouble landing more then 1 4 star this year and last year.

10 wins, Oh I thought you were talking basketball until you mentioned 40k fans. We will pack at least 40,000 into PETCO for BB. It's the future of the sport. Indoor BB is over, PETCO is the new way.

To me, a 5 star HS recruit = an impact JC transfer who can play right away. Here's a good sign, most of our quality guys starting in the trenches (OL, DL) were HS recruits who just needed time to mature. Most 4-5 star guys can play almost immediately, the 2-3 star guys need more seasoning.
Oldie Out

Kozy, are you kidding? We played poorly but Petco is a LOUSY venue for a basketball game. Absolutely terrible sight lines for anyone not in the bleacher seats. Everyone around us agreed - a unique venue but not worth it if you were not going to buy the very best seats. Basketball is and will always be an indoor game.
