This might have gone into the International section, but somehow the message of this article almost transcends politics. Well, maybe not. At any rate, the picture Christopher Hitchens presents here is so disturbing as to qualify as surreal.

One has to wonder how North Korea has been able to hang on. The picture from space of the Korean Peninsula is really startling.
