Cactus Bowl paid out $3.3 MILLION per team last year! SDSU get to keep that or has to share with other MWC teams? all bowl revenue is shared.

Hi xxxx, You’re learning of the new NCAA ruling as we are learning of it. They are in fact granting bowl eligibility to 5-7 teams with the highest APRs, which could affect the two teams selected for the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl and a number of other bowls. While the NCAA does not manage bowl contracts, the do set the bowl eligibility qualifications. Our agreements with the conferences are established upon those regulations set by the NCAA. Here is their official release regarding the new process: www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2015-11-30/ncaa-football-council-approves-process-allow-5-7-teams-bowl-gamesPlease let me know if you have any other questions! Best, Ali Rogers Communications Manager Translation- see ya

In other words, Rogers has to backtrack on what s/he said the other day, and the Cactus Bowl is probably obligated to accept a 5-7 KSU team over an MWC team. It sure looks that way. If there isn't enough eligible teams to fill all of the bowl slots then the 5-7 teams with the highest apr, one of which is ksu, will become bowl eligible. If the cactus B12 contract states that the cactus must take a B12 bowl eligible team we are screwed This is what I would expect the contracts to say. It would be strange to specify bowl eligible with at least 6 wins. We'll see though--I'm confident SDSU is viewed as at least somewhat desirable, which hasn't always been the case.

There is a lot of complaining going on. We will most likely be in the Cactus Bowl or Foster Farms Bowl. Worst case scenario is we would be in the Arizona Bowl against a 6-6 PAC team (like Arizona), which which isn't much different than playing a 6-6 PAC team in the Las Vegas Bowl (like Washington). In fact the Cactus Bowl will be probably against a 6-6 PAC team (Arizona State). Its just a more prestigious bowl with better payout and on a better date.

Bowls are in it for the money . They prefer if they can or can get ruled changed P5 teams . So nothing is set other then G5 schools will get passed over as needed . Bowls want attendance - people(p5) in colder areas to travel to warmer bowls . Also who draws viewers - with flashy teams, players or coaches . MW does Not have a rule ,and it should that the higher ranked teams get selected before lower rated teams .Bowls still prefer BSU . MW only has clout in the bowls it has strongest relationships and in crummy places . So do we end up in Hawaii or ?

This is how I see it as of today Vegas- BYU. Lock New Mexico- New Mexico. Lock Armed Forces- Air Force. Lock Poinsettia- Boise. Lock Cactus- K-State 90% Potato- Utah State. Lock Heart of Dallas-Nevada Arizona- Colorado State Hawai'i- SDSU
Yep. The MWC ships their potential undefeated champion out to Hawai'i to face Tulsa.
