You're probably right...we should give up on the team now and just come back when they're good...

Threads like this are so stupid. They offer 0 insight or analysis into the actual basketball happening on the court and instead just make generalized negative comments.
Anybody can sit at home and criticize a team that is obviously struggling with overly simplified comments like "they can't shoot".
All it does is let the rest of us know that you don't know basketball.

Btw, what part of "they can't shoot" is disputable?

If this was a pick up game at the local court it would have been the weight lifters against the cross country team. The cross country team got dead lifted about 50 x's. Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!!!! Ding, ding, ding!!! We have a winner here with this post! Nail hit squarely on the head.

On February 23, 2013, Miami beats Duke by 27 points...yet Duke goes on to become an elite 8 team... Either support your team or go find another team... When the going gets tough...just amplify your whining...that always seems to work... If this team had Duke's pedigree and long history of success, this argument would have more merit. But we don't. If this was one clunker game, you'd shrug your shoulders and look toward the next game. But it's not the first clunker. Or the second. Or even the third. The reality is this team is very ordinary right now and for all the talk of peaking in March, we are fast using up any slack we have to even be playing in March, short of winning the MW. And watching this team play, I'm not sure we have the offense, basketball IQ and maturity to do that. Being realistic about the team has nothing to do with not supporting them. It's just disappointing to see this after being excited about what I thought we'd see this season. Precisely. Very well stated. Feel the exact same way. Just because some of us are critical, it certainly does not mean we do not support the team. It simply means we expect a lot more, especially given the sky high expectations given with this team.

We only have one player on this team that can efficiently dribble the ball, That's a problem

I've forgotten more basketball then you've ever learned. Stick to your wannabe podcast. Btw, what part of "they can't shoot" is disputable? First, your appeal to your own authority is lame. Second, Jeremy Hemsley is shooting 33-65 from the field, and 9 of 19 from three. He can shoot. Malik Pope shot 41% on threes last year, so he can shoot (doesn't mean he is shooting well so far this season.) So, your "they" isn't correct in the absolute sense. A more accurate statement would be "as a group, they can't score reliably", but even that doesn't add anything to the discussion and is a clear MOTO statement. Third, tecpride00 is right. If you know so much about basketball, you can demonstrate specifics as to why they can't score reliably. Do certain players have poor form on their shots? If so, you should be able to provide specific in game examples. Are certain players making bad decisions about which shot to take - are they taking good looks or forcing bad shots? Same thing, provide specific in game examples. Then, you could contribute something substantive and perhaps educate posters who do not have your asserted wealth of basketball knowledge.

[ WV was a horrible match up for us because they play so physical. The refs were their MVP because they were either blind, bought, or simply didn't know which of the continuous fouling to call. It looked like a mugging to me, a good lesson for our guys about being stronger with the ball. If the refs call the game closer it's a different game, plain and simple.

Real low blow dude. Speaking of stupidity and podcasts, we'll be recording a live one today during the show tailgate in B2 before the game today. All are welcome to witness the horror and poor production quality in person.

We played a good WV team that was on its A game and we played a C- game. The way games had been called this year, I am very surprised that they will be able to get that aggressive with all the Referee Crews they face this year. We have been getting fouled to death in our first games and had to adjust our aggressiveness on defense. They not so much.
The bright side is we got a win in Vegas with this Tournament. Not so sure we get a win if we lose to Cal. The Cal game was very fun and you got a free drink in the bar with the game ticket.

If your entire team can't hit a 15-20ft jump shot, we are in for big trouble this season...mark my word...we don't have anybody that can post up as well

It is November. Our true freshman PG got a big lesson on the press. It's better he get schooled now, rather than in March.

a couple of weeks back Zeigler wrote this team could have a high ceiling - play great when it is on(CAL ,E,Carolina ) But also a lower floor when it is not - play very poorly as we have ( Little Rock and VWU ) . Something we are not used to. Every player on this team is up and down from game to game , or even first half to second half. As he noted do both the players and the fans have the patience to handle it . The difficult part of being a G5 school . Your OOC can very easily be your rating /seeding for MM . So the games at Long Beach and Kansas at home are ultra important, plus obvious point that the team needs to win all the games in San Diego . In addition we really need UNLV to have a very good OOC .or have BSU / other MW teams to beat some one rated during the OOC .
