No we don't, not when it comes to comparing to UNLV and Dave Rice.
The Same Dave Rice that has gone 26-9 9-5 3rd 25-10 10-6 3rd 20-13 10-8 T-3rd 18-15 8-10 7th
0 NCAA Tourney wins. He had a stable solid program to take over also.
Since he has gotten his own players, it has gotten worse. It's better for the conference when UNLV is good, reality is that won't ever happen under Dave Rice's watch. SDSU could lose to Cal and go to 2-3, we will still get it together by the end of the year and make the Tourney easily, they probably won't. Hopefully they rack up some OOC wins tho.

I think this is year that UNLV finally gets it together. They have a good mix of talent and experience. The problem kids seem to be gone. Right now I'd say it's between them and Boise for conference. Right now are defense is no where close to were it needs to be, we are young and inexperienced and our seniors haven't stepped up. Plenty can change by conference though.

I'll be the first to admit UNLV's play has been inspriring. At least I know I was inspired... to change my banner on Twitter.

Say what you will, but I think going 2-1 in a prestigious tournament and beating the #13th ranked team in the process is a pretty good achievement overall.

the MW is going to need every team to do well in the OOC or could be trouble getting teams into MM. So far UNLV is doing the best of our conference teams . Unless the MW has any rated teams by 12.30.15 , the conference will be in trouble getting decent seeds or more then 2 maybe 3 teams into MM . So would cheer for all the MW teams during OOC.

Nope, the loss to UCLA makes it clearly Colorado State, who beat Northern Iowa (who in turn beat North Carolina) and CSU is undefeated. UNLV doesn't have a bad resume at this stage, a loss to UCLA is far from crushing (though UCLA maybe unlikely to make the NCAA tourney) , and a win over IU should be solid but nowhere near as good as thought in preseason.
But the issue for UNLV is they still are playing the same basketball they have been playing under Dave Rice, they can't close out games, they take way too many threes, and can't figure out zone defenses. They almost lost to Cal Poly, and sleep walked through the first half of Chaminade so they are still playing down to competition. These are all bad signs going forward.
And yes I do root for MWC teams in the OOC, and will continue to do so.

Easier said than done Kemo Sabe! Even though it benefits our conference in the Big Dance, I still can't bring myself to root for our conference rivals OOC.

UNLV came back to defeat (by 20) Chaminade today... but were down 37-33 at the half. What can we do to show our support for the fine job Dave Rice is doing? 100% UNSOLICITED piece of advice to the Aztec coaching staff: It would be a mistake to play anything but zone vs. UNLV. Threads like this are why you guys deserve to get trolled. Did you like your own post?

The only differences would be that UNLV won its game against the weaker opponent - SDSU didn't. UNLV further responded by beating a highly ranked team. What will the Tecs do? I guess we can see what happens tomorrow. I say Cal by double digits. Look like I was wrong about Cal. Nice comeback and stifling defense at the end. Cal loses to the Spiders today and The tecs get blown out by WVU. All in all.... I guess SDSU isn't as terrible as I thought - but not nearly as good as they've been over the last few years. Not nearly.
