Is this why they are losing? They want to put the stadium up for vote, and a pissed off community wont vote for it. The Spanos will say sorry San Diego, we wanted to stay, but we just can't Problem is if they leave, so does the stadium (if not imediately-soon after) Where will the Aztecs play? They will have to fold the team. Glad we are getting a taste of good football. Don't know how much longer we will get to see it

Yeah, they're trying to lose to get out of town. If the Spanos' want to leave they don't need to do anything crazy like that, they can just bail.

Absolutely not. The Chargers will not and cannot be taken from San Diego.

Yeah Quentin Jammer and Phillip Rivers are purposely throwing games so Dean Spanos can move the chargers.

Its not up to the Chargers if they leave or not. Its up to the NFL and the other owners. There are at least six other teams with a larger revenue shortfall than the Bolts. Considering the top twelve revenue producing teams literally support the rest of the league (especially the bottom six teams), it is basically irrelevant what Spanos wants, he gets out voted. Thus the double-edged sword that is league revenue sharing.

Get winning football, and start getting 50 thousand a game, and things will look very different.

Isn't the Spanos family about to sell part of the team? What does that mean? Would they be more or less likely to sell part of the Chargers if they believed that no new stadium was going to be built here?
I still doubt that there is any way that the city of SD can afford to accommodate the Chargers with respect to building a new stadium. If the city were not so close to being broke the stadium would already be in operation. And, if a new stadium is not in the cards, will the Spanoses stay the course or bail out with a complete sale?

From what I've read about it, this is not uncommon for owners to do. Just a way to bring in some cash for whatever personal use they want. Isn't the Spanos family about to sell part of the team?
